BevNET Review: In Mexico, the rattlesnake is called El Cascabel. Thus we have the origin of the latest Hispanic-targeted energy drink to hit the market, Cascabel. This "bebida energetica's" slogan is "dejate morder" or "get bit". The drink features a double-whammy of ingredients, including an energy blend made up of l-carnitine, sucrose, caffeine, guarana, green tea, inositol, glucuronolactone. In addition, the "immunity blend" contains MPS, oat beta glucan, mSM, and coenzyme Q-10. The flavor to this beverage is a sweet green apple with hints of watermelon. The quality of the flavor is definitely above average. The packaging is unique and will definitely appeal to Hispanic consumers. For the mainstream consumer, this product will seem unique, but we question whether the snake image will appeal to consumers that currently consume energy drinks. BevNET Review: The sugar free rendition of Cascabel Energy Drink is similar to the original in appearance, but different in terms of flavor. The taste is decent and seems to have some sort of fruity tone it, but there's a noticeable sweetener aftertaste that gives the product a somewhat harsh finish. As a result, this product falls in the middle of the pack when it comes to sugar free energy drinks. We would definitely recommend improving it. Reviewed on: 2/21/2005
