Caveman Foods “Vanilla” flavor is a fermented kefir drink that is positioned as an organic probiotic beverage. It has a fair amount of fizz to it, which definitely helps to offset the underlying fermented flavor. Otherwise, the lightly sweet drink has notes of raisin and vanilla, which combine into a flavor that is reminiscent of bread. For an adult palate, this product could definitely work, especially with it having only 40 calories per 10 ounces (and no diet sweeteners to get there). Visually, the product definitely has some room for improvement, with the Caveman Foods brand name feeling completely irrelevant to the graphic design that they’ve used. And from a technical perspective, we’re not fans of the way that they’ve arranged things or how they’ve put the visual emphasis on the “bubble” images. Overall, what’s inside the bottle could certainly stand up against kombuchas and other fermented drinks, but the outside needs a makeover.
