For this variety, they added protein to mix and increased the dose of whole cherries to 50 per bottle. There's the noticeably bitter taste of added protein, but it quickly subsides as the sweet and tart cherry flavor takes over. There's 8 grams of protein per bottle, which is nice, but a bit less than your average protein drink or protein bar. And if it's going to be about added protein, we think that they should emphasize this point more than they currently do. Currently, your eye goes straight to the vertical blue bar labeled "Natural Recovery," which isn't specific enough to be meaningful. Overall, pleasant taste after the initial sip, but the drink needs to better promote its benefits -- and perhaps find a different package format.
