Pure Coconut Water

Product Type:Juice: Coconut Water and Juice; Container: 16 oz Glass
BevNET Review: We've tried just about every coconut water out there and it seems as though each and every one has a taste that's slightly different. It's the same deal for Coco Water's Pure Coconut Water, which has a salty sweet flavor that has a decent amount of coconut flavor. They've added ascorbic acid (vitamin C), but otherwise, it's just straight up coconut water — and it's quite enjoyable at that. On the outside, there's something that feels me-too about this product, both in name and design. To that end, this seems like a product that will likely stand out for being in a glass bottle (there's only one other coconut water in glass that we know of) more than anything else. They definitely haven't done anything to help the brand establish itself on its own merit. Overall, what's inside the bottle tastes good, but some better branding would definitely help this product.Reviewed on: 11/22/2010

Coconut Water & Mango

Product Type:Juice: Coconut Water and Juice; Container: 16 oz Glass
BevNET Review: Of the CocoWater line, this is the only flavor that we flat out don't like. Why? There's something off with their mixture of coconut water and mango. It just doesn't taste right, with neither flavor hitting your palate in the right way. They definitely need to go back to the drawing board with this one.Reviewed on: 11/22/2010

Coconut Water & Lychee

Product Type:Juice: Coconut Water and Juice; Container: 16 oz Glass
BevNET Review: Of the CocoWater lineup, this is the only flavor combination that we haven't seen before in another brand. So we appreciate that they've at least tried something new. However, like their other fruit-flavored coconut waters, this one is a bit too heavy on the lychee. That being said, it drinks more like lychee juice with a splash of coconut rather than the other way around (which is what we would like to see). In its current state, it definitely doesn't feel like we're drinking coconut water when we consume this product. On the outside, this product's 16 oz. glass bottle is the nicest looking of the bunch, with a pink accent color that makes it stand out from the shades of yellow used on the other two fruit flavors. They have not, however, alleviated our concerns about the me-too look of the product. Lots of work for them to do on this front. Overall, this product needs work on both the flavor and packaging fronts.Reviewed on: 11/22/2010

Coconut Water & Pineapple

Product Type:Juice: Coconut Water and Juice; Container: 16 oz Glass
BevNET Review: Despite having an error on the ingredients list (there's no mention of pineapple juice — just coconut water and vitamin C), this product is a mixture of coconut water and pineapple juice. It's rather sweet tasting and has a lot of pineapple flavor, which overpowers most of the base coconut water taste. The pineapple juice tastes like canned pineapple juice, which is less than ideal in our opinion. Dialing down the pineapple juice seems like the obvious solution to us. On the outside, our feeling about this product is the same as the other flavors: it feels like a me-too product that's lacking in the personality department. Eliminating some of the text (e.g. Isotonic beverage and fat free) and perhaps changing the name might improve our opinion of the product. Overall, it's good, but not good enough to be a serious player in the category.Reviewed on: 11/22/2010
