BevNET Review: Seriously, how do they come up with this stuff? The latest of Coke's cola extensions is Black Cherry Vanilla Coke -- what a mouthful, both literally and figuratively. The flavor is -- surprise, surprise -- a combination of Vanilla Coke and a slightly mellow rendition of Cherry Coke. If you're someone who enjoys Vanilla Coke and Cherry Coke, or you believe that there's something new and exciting about every new cola produt that Coke or Pepsi bring to market, this product is for you. However, most of America will probably not even know that this product ever existed. The novelty of Coke & Pepsi's flavor extensions has worn off, so the PR behind this is nothing compared to the first couple of rounds. Plus, this flavor is really a bit of a stretch. Consumers won't be able to get a sense of the flavor until they try it and they'll have a tough time doing so when the plain jane can gets stuck in the cooler. Coke needs to start coming up with something more original if they want people to be excited about its cola brand. Enough said.

I miss it something awful

I really liked it. I wish they could have given some warning before they discontinued it. It has been a while since that happened, so I dont think it's coming back. Still I thought the taste was good, they probably should have packaged it better.

best cola in a can

I had always liked Cherry Pepsi more than Cherry Coke, and after the novelty wore off, I hated Vanilla Coke. When Black Cherry Vanilla came out, I tried it and I was *sold* on it. I didn't know they were going to phase it out until after it disappeared; I wish I now had some way of getting it back! :-(

this was my favorite flavor of Coke

I loved this version, when it started to disappear off the shelves I searched high and low to find the rest of the remaining cans and bottles, drank them up as they lasted a few months after the expiration date, now I really miss it, wish they'd bring it back. Much better taste than Cherry Coke and Vanilla Coke, both of which I find too sweet.

Yuck!

Perhaps the worst coke ever, along with Coke 2 and Coke Black. Disgusting, tastes like cough syrup. Wouldn't want to drink. Diet is better but still Yucky. Just drink VANILLA!

I've always liked coca-cola, but black cherry vanilla was the best flavor (other than the original) i have EVER tasted. I hope to see it in shelves in New Jersey again soon!

A clash of flavor

Well, Coke overdid themselves. I'm tired of these gimmicky drinks that I can hardly get through a can of. Terrible, but slightly innovative. Final Analysis: NO

Better than expected

The first time I sampled this, I was surprised by the not receiving the usual chalky/almondy artificial flavor characteristic of black cherry drinks. Instead, it had a rather appealing Dr. Brown's-like black cherry flavor, which worked well with the warm vanilla tones. Actually one of the better recent Coke spinoffs.

Black Cherry w/o vanilla

It was good, but would have been better without the vanilla.
