BevNET Review: Coolah, which is Dr Pepper / Seven Up’s only true energy drink entry, features a sweet citrus flavor that is very much in the style of a CSD. In fact, there’s really not much difference – at least in flavor -- between Coolah and similar citrus CSDs, such as Mountain Dew. Still, it’s a refreshing flavor, with our only major complaint being the syrupy coating that it leaves in your mouth. The packaging, on the other hand, seems cluttered and kind of bland, with a silver boomerang cutting through the yellow, silver and white background. The name “Coolah” and the tag “Energy from Down Under” are safe bets in the sense that they don’t offend anyone, but it’s not the type of branding that’s going to get anyone excited either. Realistically, we see this as a product that someone strolling down the CSD aisle might pick up, but otherwise it isn’t going to win over any energy drink consumers. Overall, a mediocre product that tastes good, but doesn’t stand out.
