Manufacturer's Brand Overview [Edit]

Dad’s is one of America’s most popular soft drinks. The beverage was developed in 1937, and its unique and delicious flavor has earned it a loyal following. Although new flavors have been introduced into root beer over the past 100 years, the essential ingredients are still wintergreen, licorice and vanilla. Dad’s is also available in Orange Cream, Blue Cream Creamy Red and Amber Cream flavors. Dad’s further distinguished itself as a brand and as an industry innovator when it became the first product to use the six-pack format invented by the Atlanta Paper Company in the 1940s. Dad’s also introduced the half-gallon bottle, becoming the first brand to market this size.

BevNET Review: This diet root beer just doesn't do it for us. Root beer is a beverage which should be deep and flavorful, and no matter how hard many companies try, this just doesn't succeed in the diet. The taste is alright, but very watered down. Stick with the non-diet. Reviewed on: 3/23/2006

Old Fashioned Root Beer

BevNET Review: Dad's Root Beer has a great flavor. It's light, smooth, and highly refreshing. The flavor has a slight licorice flavor that really makes this beverage enjoyable. This is a great root beer that's not too heavy, but still big on flavor. Definitely try this beverage. Reviewed on: 3/23/2006

Blue Cream

BevNET Review: Dad's Old Fashioned Blue Cream is a sweet and creamy beverage. It doesn't really feel too old fashioned to us...after all, it is a blue colored beverage that is packaged in a 20 oz plastic bottle. The flavor is a bit too sweet. Tone that down and remove some of the blue coloring and you have a much more appealing beverage. In its current state, Dad's Blue Cream is a mediocre beverage that we would not be likely to purchase.Reviewed on: 5/31/2001

BevNET Review: Dad's Cherry Limeade, seen to the left in some very unattractive packaging, is a fruit flavored beverage that contains no fruit juice. This beverage tastes like a mellow raspberry-lime rickey. The flavor is fairly pleasant -- the cherry flavor tastes tart and sweet, while the lime flavor gives it a nice splash of citrus flavor. Overall, a pretty decent beverage -- despite the fact that it has no juice. The packaging need serious work -- it looks like something that should be on display at a gas station.Reviewed on: 5/31/2001

BevNET Review: The key part of Dad's Old Fashioned Honey Lemonade is "Old Fashioned." We hope this isn't how it was done in the old days since there is a lack of juice in this beverage. The flavor is sweet, but not really sour enough to taste like a lemonade. Supposedly there is real honey in this beverage, but we couldn't taste it.Reviewed on: 5/31/2001
