BevNET Review: Dandelion & Burdock (D&B) is an English soda, which is bottled in Canada, that has a very unique and mature flavor. The label doesn't describe it as anything but a "soft drink" (or "Boisson Gazeuse" for the French) so weren't quite sure what to expect. The flavor is moderately sweet and has a strong licorice flavor -- which requires it to be slowly sipped. Overall, a fine drink with a strong English style.

I fell in love with D and B and have found two types here in Canada Ben shaws is nothing. Weak and all bubbles. Barr's is the BEST for a strong hit of flavour. The price is $2.60 a can and about the same price of a 12 pack of coke on sale. But it's worth it. Will someone please make a great one here in Canada so I may get it in the 2 litre???!!!??? I would like to try Fentimans

I am from the UK where this drink is commonplace and cheaper than cola. I prefer D&B drinks with a stronger herbal taste like Fentimans, but the Barrs product is the one most people associate with this drink, and the easiest to get hold of. Many supermarkets in the UK stock a home brand product, and these vary in quality. You get what you pay for, but the drink is always generally cheaper than cola. This drink should go international!

Dandelion & Burdock is my favorite drink of all time. I grew up in the UK and used to get it every now and then as a treat during my childhood. Then it became very hard to get a hold of for a while. A few years ago, I found it for sale again and immediately started buying it and drinking it on its own, as well as mixed with Jack Daniel's as my own personal substitute for Jack Daniel's & coke. I've been in the U.S. for two years now and have still not given up on getting my hands on some. Until then, I'm drinking Dr. Pepper. They're somewhat similar.

Tried Ben Shaw Dandelion & Burdock at a Scott-Irish festival in Montgomery County, PA, USA today. It was very good. Would purchase it here if available in retail
