BevNET Review: The Black Cherry Flavor of Dasani’s Essence line tastes like water with a touch of tart fruit flavoring. While the aroma is definitely that of cherry, the flavor is only faintly recognizable. Furthermore, it’s basically a bitter flavor, lacking the sweet note that helps balance out cherries and cherry flavored products. The result is something that’s not overly enjoyable – we’d prefer to stick with plain water. Packaging is decent, but forgettable, with the image of the cherries being the main thing that draws your eye on the label. Otherwise, this product is likely to blend in with other Dasani products as they’ve failed to give it an identity that stands out. Overall, it’s decent, but not something that we'd reach for again.
