BevNET Review: Black Cherry is one of the reformulated (and now Stevia free) Diet Steaz flavors. It's not what you'd expect from a traditional "diet" product per se, especially since the drink is actually sweetened with sugar. What makes the drink "diet" is that they've sparingly used the sugar, keeping it to 9g (and 40 calories) per serving. That being said, this product drinks way better than any diet product we've had in recent times. The lightly carbonated body of green tea is crisp and refreshing, with a light dose of black cherry flavor to help round things out. It's really quite enjoyable. On the outside, they've given the drink a more modern look than the old design, which is definitely more attractive. Overall, a huge improvement over the original Diet Steaz flavors. BevNET Review: This flavor of Diet Steaz is the most ambitious of the bunch, attempting to deliver not one but two fruit flavors. While there's a decent note of something that tastes like blueberry, the low level of sweetness doesn't do much to convince the palate that there's any pomegranate. It's not an unpleasant product to drink -- it's just that we prefer the others over this one. Worth a try, but not the best of the line.Reviewed on: 1/31/2008

BevNET Review: The second flavor that we sampled was Orange. This flavor of the Diet Steaz line is, like the other Diet Steaz flavors, a clean and crisp tasting beverage that takes a different approach to being a diet beverage. Specifically, they've kept things organic by using a reduced amount of sugar rather than substituting it for an artificial one. For those who are not sensitive to sugar, that might not be a bad thing, as a milder dose of something natural is, at least in our opinion, better than something unnatural. Either way, the combination of green tea and orange flavor works well from start to finish, providing a very refreshing flavor that won't weigh you down. One suggestion for this product would be to dial down the color -- it gives off the impression that the drink is going to be sweeter than it actually is. BevNET Review: Raspberry was our favorite flavor of the Diet Steaz line. The light level of sugar actually makes the raspberry flavor taste more natural than if more sugar were used. Plus, raspberry is a nice flavor to complement the green tea that makes up the base of the product. Lastly there's the packaging, which looks clean, modern, and whets the appetite. BevNET Review: Diet Steaz Black Cherry has a very distinct flavor to it, but it's almost more of a red pepper flavor than a black cherry. Specifically, the product features an almost slightly spicy flavor to the finish which is perhaps a result of the combination of tea, stevia, and this specific cherry flavor. Regardless of what it is, we like it. Yes, the flavor is quite different, but it's also quite enjoyable and refreshing. In addition, it's very nice to finally see a diet product that truly has a conscience. Overall, a really good product that will likely help shape the future of diet beverages. BevNET Review: Diet Steaz Cola is truly a revolutionary beverage. This product has avoided many formulation pitfalls which stem from the fact that the product is organic -- which severely limits the number of flavors available. In addition, cola flavors in general do not traditionally mask the taste of sugar substitutes very well PLUS the product uses green tea which can also leave an aftertaste. Given all of these variables, we did not expect the flavor of Diet Steaz Cola to taste like your everyday cola -- and it doesn't. Instead, Diet Steaz has a flavor that is going to be new to every consumer that tries it. It features a very light level of sweetness that keeps the cola flavor quite light. The finish of the product is really where the green tea comes into the picture, giving the product a noticeable tea-like finish. Overall, we love the purity of the formulation and the use of stevia -- all of this will be good for the industry once the consumer is educated on this type of product. In the meantime, the product is one that is refreshing, light, and complex in flavor and we definitely recommend it.Reviewed on: 1/27/2004

BevNET Review: Lemon Lime Diet Steaz is our favorite flavor of the brand. Most likely due to the use of a citrus flavor, which helps to hide the trace green tea / sugar-substitute aftertaste that exists in the other two flavors. Like the other flavors, Lemon Lime Diet Steaz is very light in body and has a very sweetness to it. This is a great product for the low-carb consumer who is sick of feeling like they are consuming something that is the result of a lab experiment every time they drink a diet soda. Plus, with all of the groups against Aspartame (and now even against Sucralose) -- a product that contains stevia (which has no reported toxicity) is definitely on the cutting edge.
