In a world where beverages are pretty much all about providing some sort of value add (in addition to flavor and refreshment), it’s always interesting to see a product that’s going in the other direction. And that’s how we’d sum up this product, Diet Double Cola, which, being a diet cola, is a product that’s about as pedestrian as it gets. Compared with other colas that have attempted to throw their hat into the category, we appreciate that Diet Double Cola has made an effort with the design of their can. Still, it looks somewhat like a store brand, albeit a better-than-average one. As for the flavor, there isn’t really a whole lot new that we can say about a cola that’s sweetened with ace-k and aspartame. There are countless colas out there that have done this and this one is on par with them. That said, the copy on the side of the can, which talks about the product being handcrafted and using “treasured ingredients” to “redefine the world of zero-calorie sodas,” is just a tad farfetched. At the end of the day, this is just another cola trying to make it in a category that is dominated by Coke and Pepsi. Does this product have something new, unique, or improved to make an impact? Unfortunately, we don’t think so. However, as far as value diet colas go, this one isn't half bad.
