BevNET Review: Dating back to the 1930's, Double-Cola is a classic style cola that was originally created to offer a package that was double the size of the competition. Today, Double-Cola is still around, but in a slightly different form. Specifically, it is no longer sold as double-the-size as this would be impossible in today's market where 20 ounce+ is the norm. As for the taste, of Double-Cola, we like it -- it reminds us of some of the European formulations of Pepsi. Slightly lighter, not as sweet, and no where near as syrupy. Overall, a refreshing product that we could definitely consume again and again.

I HAVE BEEN ENJOYING DOUBLE COLAS FOR 58 YEARS. AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED THERE ARE NO OTHER COLA THAT CAN BE COMPAIRED TO DOUBLE COLAS.

Disappointing

I was really disappointed with this cola. It reminded me of a local grocery store generic brand, flat and tasteless. I was confused by the ingredients label where it says it contains sugar and/or HFCS. Well, which one is it?! I drank 1 on one day and tried another on a different day hoping for better results. Nope! I threw the other 10 cans in the garbage. Boylan and Red Rock still have the best cola I have found.

It seems like a new formula

I just received a package of Double Cola from Chatanooga, TN. This is the first time I have tried Double Cola in about fifty years. Something seems to have changed and I don't think it's me. This stuff seems almost flat. I remember Double Cola back in the early 1950's tasting "anything-but flat." It was sharper in taste and more potent than eother Coke or RC. I really would like to know what went wrong?

A long time favorite

A cola with a very distinctive flavor - to my buds it has a bit of a "peppery" taste but sweeter. When I have the chance to visit my hometown (Evansville, IN) I always stock up with a six pack or two. It was one of the last manufacturers to use the old 6 16-oz bottle packaging, but after the redesign they stopped selling it this way. I still think colas out of glass containers taste better than the aluminum or plastic packaging.

Double Cola Still rocks!!!

I did a google search to see if this fine drink from my childhood and more importantly my older siblings childhood. Just to give the gift of a simpler time (childhood) I gave Double Cola to my brothers and sisters for Christmas. Of course I had to order some for myself and it is as remembered. Just sweet eonugh and with just the right carbonation. A great cola and if any one wonders what the drinks of the past that we older people wish were still easily available try this one. Make sure you order glass bottles the drink is much different than the plastic stuff of today.
