Product Type: Functional: Relaxation Drink; Container: 16 oz
BevNET Review: Drank is one of the new "relaxation beverages," which promotes itself as being able to calm and slow things down. It has a pretty pleasant grape flavor, although the use of high fructose corn syrup leaves a sugary coating in your mouth. There's a moderate amount of carbonation, giving this drink a lot of similarities to a CSD in terms of mouth feel and taste. There's added rosehips, valerian root, B vitamins, and melatonin, a supplement known as a natural sleep aid. That last ingredient has prompted the marketer to place a warning that the product may cause drowsiness. It's the first time we've seen such a claim, so it's hard to say how that will resonate with the consumer. Our biggest issue with this product is the less than subtle drug reference found in the name "Drank", a reference to the mixture of cough syrup, soda, and candy known as "Purple Drank." Realistically, we don't think that reference will help with anything more than the novelty buyer, who probably isn't going to load up on beverages to help relax. Overall, a new approach to branding and the removal of HFCS could make this a pretty interesting product.

this drink is kool, it showed up a few weeks ago so i bought 3- drank on and i did notice i was not paying to much attention on the road, more a tried spaced out feeing. but its not too strong but if you drank like 3 in a row you would prob feel drunkish- but the taste is fine- its like a grape cough syrup with sprite mix taste.

Pretty Good

I bought two of these at the gas station, I have had them in the past, but usually while drinking beer so it was hard to tell the effects. I just finished a whole can in about 30min or so. The only downside to this drink is the sugary taste, I would much rather opt for a sugar free one even if some taste is compromised. But I am definitely tired and I like how effective the drink is. If you really want to slow your roll, then this is a good option, to everyone else's reviews....why would you buy a drink that makes you drowsy, and complain about its potency? Overall, 4/5 Pros - good taste, potent formula, cool can. Cons - too sweet/sugary.

Pot in a Can? Not the answer
1 stars1 stars1 stars1 stars1 stars

i think marketing something as an alternative to marijuana is foolhardy at best and downright irresponsible at worst. That woman who killed 8 people on the Taconic Parkway the other day with her car was just found to have weed and alcohol in her system in outrageously dangerous amounts. Now some idiot will be like "well, it's not weed" and go off and do something stupid. No thank you. People, just have some chamomile and take a nap if you want to relax. These drinks are not the answer!

Who wants it???

Tell me who in the world needs a whole 16oz of carbonated grape flavored sugar loaded water before they go to sleep??? Whoever came up with an idea is clueless. Your marketing stinks. Sorry.

Drank is great!

I found Drank, the anti-energy drink at my local headie shop. Decided to give it a go, as i am a person who prefers downers much more so than uppers. The Valerain, melatonin and rose hips work very well together. After drinking a can of the grape flavored bev, which tastes just fine, if you like grape flavored things, you will be relaxed. Takes 30-60 minutes to affect depending on stomach contents. It is comparable to taking a xanax or a ahlf bottle o nyquil (without the blah) synergizes very well with herbal smokes. great for watching movies, chillin with friends, or going to concerts. NOT a party drink, not something to drink and drive on.

More than just a gimmick

I will attest that Drank does indeed slow your roll. the first time I tried it I, not knowing its effects, I had difficulties driving. I even used it to help me sleep through Hurricane Ike while everyone else I knew did not get any shuteye. I have used melatonin in pill form before, but Drank other ingredients of valerian root and rosehips make it much more potent than mere melatonin. If you drink a whole can, it will be very hard to stay awake. As for flavor, its grape Dimetap. A pretty simple flavor. I think this was designed for mixed drinks, as the flavor works well that way too. I have only two problems with this drink. First, there is no need for the large can- I usually do not finish a complete can before I'm too tired to swallow. Second, this is not something you can drink everyday simply because it is very potent. Not that many people need to "slow their roll"

tastes like dimetapp but not as strong as nyquill
2 stars2 stars2 stars2 stars2 stars

the idea is cool but melatonin will cause depression and insomnia if taken throughout the day and night. melatonin is the chemical that makes you fall asleep and is produced naturally by the brain before sleep. it is sold in pills at health stores and is only taken before bed. if someone buys this and does not know about melatonin they may drive and crash their car... should be put in the cough syrup isle not with energy drinks. the rest of the calming anti-anxiety ingedients are safe and work except the HFCS...that is dumb to have a major sugar high in a relaxation drink...that makes it not work as well as nyquill. the taste is okay the first few sips... but I could not drink 1/2 the can without getting a lil sick of the taste... the more you drink the worse it gets ... like dimetapp...the can is ugly but the logo is cool. does not sell well in the store i got it in Dallas.
