BevNET Review: Edj water is a lightly carbonated water that is sourced from a lithia hot spring in the Canadian Rockies. One of the key selling points is its natural lithium content, which the manufacturer claims to help boost neurogenesis (new brain cell formation). In terms of flavor, this product has no calories or sweeteners, with just a light splash of grapefruit flavoring. While it is perfectly enjoyable, it’s something that can be found in countless other brands of flavored sparkling water. However, it’s the branding and labeling that are the biggest issues for this product. First, there’s the name of the product, “edj,” which is confusing (in terms of how to say it) and easy to stumble over. And regardless, it seems like a pretty random name for an unsweetened sparkling water line. Second, there’s a critical flaw on the label, which is the placement of the flavor name on the side of the bottle in an almost microscopic font. We’re confident that we’re not the only people out there who will tell them to move it to the front panel. Otherwise, the bottle has a minimalist look to it with a skew towards the female demographic. Overall, it’s a nice tasting product, but improvements to the label and name are needed to help it stand out from the bigger brands that already play in this space. Reviewed on: 7/7/2011
