BevNET Review: With a pleasant citrus flavor that's been finished with a splash of pineapple, EGO Energy Drink is actually one of the better tasting energy drinks to come our way. The drink is sweetened with cane sugar and has minimal aftertaste, which is certainly a positive. In terms of functionality, this drink steers clear of guarana, but otherwise uses a fairly standard looking cocktail of caffeine, taurine, green tea extract, and vitamins. Overall, it's a very pleasant tasting product. On the outside, there's a bit of work left to do. For starters, there is the backdrop, which gives the can a sloppy appearance. Second, there's the typeface, which looks fine as far as the logo goes, but is very hard to read on other parts of the can. Finally, they need to more clearly state why this drink is worth buying. Conceptual statements such as "A state of mind" and "EGO is everything" come across as typical energy drink hyperbole, while placing "gluten free" (a generally irrelevant tag line for beverages) directly over the logo doesn't seem like the best of ideas.
