Sparkling Fuji Apple

Product Type:Juice: Sparkling Juice; Container: 8.3 oz can
BevNET Review: The Sparkling Apple flavor of Envy is one of the better executed flavors in the lineup, the result of the sweeter apple flavor taking charge over the other juices that are used in the drink. Carbonating it helps as well, allowing the drink to have a crisp finish that’s reminiscent of biting into an apple. On the other hand, sparkling apple juice doesn’t feel overly sophisticated or original at this point. While it’s a perfectly good tasting product, the chic look of the packaging might have consumers expecting a twist or something different than what’s inside the can. Otherwise, there’s nothing in this product that would warrant choosing this over one of the other companies in this space. Reviewed on: 2/23/2009

Sparkling Acai Berry

Product Type:Juice: Sparkling Juice; Container: 8.3 oz can
BevNET Review: Of the flavor lineup, this one sounded like it had the most promise. Unfortunately, this blend of pear, apple, grape, lemon and acerola juices with added acai puree (as well as natural flavors and some additional not flavor ingredients) has insufficient acai flavor. Instead, the pear, apple, and grape flavors lead the way, which is less enjoyable than one that is dominated by acai. In addition to our issues with the flavor, we have concerns that the look of the package will be confused for an energy drink. Specifically, the combination of the name "envy", the 8 ounce can, and the black theme give the product a style that seems better suited for something other than a carbonated juice. However, if they can adjust the flavor to have more acai, this is certainly the most market worthy -- and adult like -- flavor of the bunch.Reviewed on: 12/31/2008

Sparkling Tropical Mango

Product Type:Juice: Sparkling Juice; Container: 8.3 oz can
BevNET Review: From a flavor point of view, this was the hands down winner of the Envy lineup. Unlike some of the other varieties that hit your palate with a lot of apple, this one has a really enjoyable and accurate mango flavor and aroma. They've also added vitamins A,C, and D as well as calcium to this no sugar added mix. Factoring in the levels of sweetness and carbonation, it's the full package -- we wouldn't change a thing inside the can. However, on the outside, we're still concerned about the drink's energy drink like appearance. If one were to quickly scan a cooler full of products, there's nothing that grabs your eye and says "carbonated juice," which would make it easy for one to subconsciously pass it over. Horizontal placement of the "100% sparkling juice" and the flavor name might help alleviate this. Overall, exceptional flavor, but we're not sold on the design.Reviewed on: 12/31/2008

+ Show Product ReviewSparkling Green Apple

Product Type:Juice: Sparkling Juice; Container: 8.3 oz can
BevNET Review: Envy's Sparkling Green Apple is "100%" sparkling juice. It uses a blend of carbonated water, apple juice, grape juice, vitamins, and natural flavors. The result is a sweet mixture that has a pleasant apple flavor with a moderate amount of carbonation. Technically speaking, it's an enjoyable product, but the product seems to lacking in the innovation department. The product is essentially the same concept that's been on the market in a variety of forms (The Switch, etc.), but with a different looking can. We're all for packaging innovation and design as a source of differentiation, but this product's design looks more appropriate for an energy drink than that of a carbonated juice product. Still, the all black can, thin sans-serif font, and vertical text are certainly slick looking. The issue is really that Envy has failed to find the proper balance of form and function, which will likely result in consumers expecting something different than what's actually in the can.Reviewed on: 12/31/2008
