BevNET Review: Essn's latest flavor is a carbonated mixture of mango and passion fruit juices. Like the other varieties of essn, it's a 100% juice blend and it uses carbonated water as well as white grape juice to round out the body. Unlike the competition, this flavor of essn has no white grape flavor. Instead, you get the sweet taste of mango and passion fruit flavors, properly balanced so that they refresh and not overwhelm. Packaging follows the styling of the essn brand, which is nice looking, but has a few too many words on the front of the can. In addition, the name of the product requires four lines of text, which is a bit hard on the eyes. Still, the overall appearance of the product is attractive and clean, so don't let that dissuade you from trying this great tasting product.Reviewed on: 2/25/2008

Pomegranate & Montmorency Cherry Juice

BevNET Review: Essn has done a really nice job formulating this product. There's an ample amount of real fruit flavor, starting with a mild splash of pomegranate and finishing with a sour cherry flavor. We notice a tiny dash of white grape flavor poking through, but compared to competing pomegranate flavors, they've done a much better job. Packaging is decent, but a bit busy, especially considering the amount of text on the front of the can. Lastly, there is the name of the product which, at five rather long words, could be shortened into something a bit more marketable. BevNET Review: Essn's entry into the energy category blends a variety of flavors, including green tea, yerba mate, pomegranate, and limeflower. The carbonated blend has a rich tea flavor, which pairs nicely with the flavors of green tea and yerba mate. The second part of the flavor is its fruity finish, which has noticeable lime and berry flavors. It doesn't taste like pomegranate, but overall we think they've truly nailed the flavor. Plus, the product formulation, which uses naturally derived caffeine for its source of energy, has punch. Packaging looks very similar to Essn's other products, with the main difference being the use of a 12 oz. slim can. Otherwise, we wonder if the emphasis should be on the word "energy" as opposed to "organic" as that's really why consumers are going to consider this product. Reviewed on: 7/17/2007

Sparkling Minneola Tangerine

BevNET Review: Sparkling Minneola Tangerine is a great tasting sparkling citrus beverage. Featuring the sweet flavor of minneola tangerines (actually they are "tangelos"), this product has a flavor that is remniscent of orange juice with a splash of grapefruit. Basically it isn't as sweet as straight up orange juice and has a very mild bitterness to the finish. Overall, this product is great --- the use of white grape juice works well to sweeten this product and the packaging gives it an appealing look. Definitely give it a try.Reviewed on: 9/29/2003

Sparkling Meyer Lemon

BevNET Review: Sparkling Meyer Lemon essn is a refreshing carbonated fruit juice beverage made with a blend of white grape and meyer lemon. While we do appreciate the use of white grape in place of sweeteners, it gives the product a flavor that just tastes off. We even noticed it on the aroma of this product. Overall it is good, but could perhaps be improved. We'll still give it good marks -- the nice neat packaging will catch even a fickle consumer's eye and the use of 100% juice is sure to win them over.Reviewed on: 9/29/2003

Sparkling Fuji Apple

BevNET Review: Sparkling Fuji Apple is the most simple flavor of the essn product line -- but it's also the cleanest. Sparkling apple juice is a tried and true concept, so there's not much that really needs to be said about the taste of this product. The only thing to note is that they used fuji apple juice to give this product a higher quality feeling than the competition. Packaging also helps gives this product a boost as it is extremely clean and eye catching. Overall, a good product with a classic flavor.Reviewed on: 9/29/2003

BevNET Review: Sparkling Blood Orange & Cranberry essn is a sweet and refreshing carbonated juice beverage that packs a big fruit flavor into a small package. The product features a well balanced mixture of sweet blood orange juice and tart cranberry....it won't let you down. In addition, this product is able to qualify as a 100% juice beverage, so it doesn't taste watered down. Overall, this product has a very fresh and refreshing flavor to it. As for the packaging, we like it. It's very clean and has a nice soft feeling to it -- not something you expect to see in the "energy drink can". Definitely try this product!Reviewed on: 9/29/2003
