BevNET Review: When you first sip First Blush's Chardonnay variety, the initial taste is somewhat like white grape juice. However, this drinks much cleaner than standard white grape and there's a much more complex flavor to it. Using real chardonnay grapes with no added sugar, this product certainly maintains a very authentic taste that you won't find anywhere else. On the other hand, maybe there's a reason for that -- are consumers really interested in such a product? We're not convinced, especially given the decline in RTD juice sales over the past couple of years. There's certainly a chance for niche success in the super premium category, but we think First Blush will need to punch up the packaging if they're going to be taken seriously.Reviewed on: 5/18/2007

BevNET Review: We understand the need to have a few SKUs to this lineup, but we honestly don't believe that consumers will be able to distinguish this variety from the Cabernet. Most likely, they'll choose whichever one corresponds with the type of wine that they drink or are more familiar with. As for the flavor, it's exactly what we'd expect from a merlot grape, complete with notes of berry, currant, and plum. Packaging could certainly use a little love, starting with the wrap on the cap that is nearly impossible to remove by hand. In addition, we think the design of the label isn't overly appetizing. It's hard to put our finger on it, but it just doesn't mesh with the super premium intentions of the manufacturer.Reviewed on: 5/18/2007

BevNET Review: If you've ever had grape juice, but thought it was a bit too tart, then First Blush's Rosé variety is definitely worth a try. Using zinfandel grapes (hence the name), the product has a mildly sweet flavor that's made with no added sugar. It certainly goes down easy compared to other grape juices we've tried. Well, that assumes you are able to open the bottle, which has a shrink wrap around the cap that's nearly impossible to open. Aside from that, the product uses a stock bottle that has a simple, illustration based design. It's not overly obvious what the product is just by looking at it, especially with the six circles that are in the center of the label. It doesn't really tie together with the brand. Overall, it's a decent execution in the way of flavor, but we really question the marketability of a line of full calorie grape juice. Reviewed on: 5/18/2007
