We understand the need to have a few SKUs to this lineup, but we honestly don't believe that consumers will be able to distinguish this variety from the Cabernet. Most likely, they'll choose whichever one corresponds with the type of wine that they drink or are more familiar with. As for the flavor, it's exactly what we'd expect from a merlot grape, complete with notes of berry, currant, and plum. Packaging could certainly use a little love, starting with the wrap on the cap that is nearly impossible to remove by hand. In addition, we think the design of the label isn't overly appetizing. It's hard to put our finger on it, but it just doesn't mesh with the super premium intentions of the manufacturer.
