Flirt

Product Type:Functional: Energy Drink: Diet; Container: 12 oz sleek can
BevNET Review: Flirt is an energy drink that’s designed for the female consumer, which is why it contains DHA, folic acid, ginkgo, and hoodia (an appetite suppressant). It’s a zero calorie drink that has been sweetened with ace-k and sucralose, while the added citrus flavoring and notes of tea also hit your tongue. Unfortunately, this drink has a pretty rough flavor, with a medicinal taste that almost overpowers the rest of the mix. In addition, it has a less than pleasant aroma, which will likely stop some consumers dead in their tracks. To us, that makes an evaluation of the drink’s functional ingredients somewhat of a moot point as they’ve got some serious hurdles to overcome with the drink’s flavor. On the outside, the “Flirt” brand seems like it has the potential to be catchy, but some flaws in the visual execution might hurt that. Specifically, the Flirt logo isn’t dark enough, which hurts readability. Beyond that, it has a certain amount of novelty to it, making it easy to miss the female specific formulation that’s actually inside the can. If they’re going to keep these ingredients in, they should better spell out what the functions are – and perhaps tone down the branding to help the drink’s credibility. Regardless of there being a few areas for improvement, the concept of a drink that’s targeted and formulated for women seems like a good niche to follow, especially given the limited number of competitors in the space. Overall, it needs a fair amount of work, but it’s not far from being on the right track.
