BevNET Review: Froid's latest entry is Creamy Organic Chai, an organic chai beverage made with super-premium ingredients. The flavor is, as most American chais are, rich in milk flavor, with the tea and spice flavors playing second fiddle. The spice is mild, but well-done, with notes of cinnamon and ginger easily distinguished from the body. Overall, the flavor of Froid's Creamy Organic Chai is enjoyable, with our only complaint being a slight tinge of plastic in its finish. The packaging is on par with the other flavors, but the white lettering on top of the Creamsicle-orange label is difficult to read -- and easy to miss. Finally, we'd really like to see Froid make this product easier to open as, at least in our tests, opening the bottle removes 1/3 to 1/2 the label, leaving a stark and generic looking plastic bottle in our hand. Still, we like what this product is about and, short of a few minor improvements, this is a technically sound product. Reviewed on: 11/2/2006

BevNET Review: Froid, which is French for "cold" (pronounced "FRWAH"), is the first organic ready to drink iced coffee to hit the market. The flavor is rich and creamy, with milk and sugar being the predominant flavor of the formulation. The coffee flavor is on par with other products in the category, but is lighter than what you'd get at a coffee bar. They've done what they can with the package, creating something that feels upscale despite the use of plastic. The fully wrapped design is clean, but it makes for a package that's difficult to open and may completely unravel, which diminishes the look of the product in your hand. Still, the French name sounds sophisticated and we think that along with the mellow flavor, clean label, and USDA organic certification will appeal to a consumer of premium ready to drink coffee.Reviewed on: 6/27/2006

French Vanilla

BevNET Review: While the label isn't that much different than the Original variety, the flavor sure is. The vanilla flavor is extremely well done and, as a result, makes this product quite addictive. The milk flavor is still strong, but it's lacking the burnt flavor that is typical of ready to drink iced coffee. In addition, the use of cane sugar -- rather than corn syrup -- gives this product a clean body that is at the top of the category. Like the original flavor, it's a bit difficult to open, but we really like the upscale design. Overall, a very well done product that seemingly has it all -- clean design, high quality ingredients, USDA organic certification, and, last but not least, great taste.Reviewed on: 6/27/2006
