Citrus

Product Type:Functional: Energy Shot; Container: 2 oz.
BevNET Review: The Citrus variety of Full Throttle Quick Shot is a good one, with a 25 calorie formulation that blends decent flavor with a moderate dose of energy (125mg of caffeine). They've used HFCS as the sweetener, which increases the viscosity and thus reinforces the concentrated theme behind energy shots. The flavor is definitely palatable, with a mild citrus flavor that's followed by a slight dose of energy burn. Otherwise, the drink is very much in line with the category, blending B vitamins, taurine, ginseng, and guarana into the mix. Packaging is a 2 ounce slim bottle with a clean looking front panel. It's lacking the personality that exists with the other large energy drink company's shot entries, but it's certainly a respectable effort. Overall, a decent mainstream focused entry for the Full Throttle lineup.

Blue Agave

Product Type:Functional: Energy Shot; Container: 2 oz.
BevNET Review: While the Blue Agave flavor of Full Throttle Quick Shot isn't a bad one, it's definitely a distant second to the citrus. For starters, it's tough to really see the resemblance to agave in this mix, which has a fair amount of energy flavor to compete with. Perhaps the only thing that tastes like agave is the slight cooling sensation that's part of the drink's finish. On the energy front, this product blends 125mg of caffeine, B vitamins, taurine, ginseng, and guarana into a pretty standard looking energy formulation. That's probably a safe bet for Coca-Cola, who hasn't really ventured too far into categories where supplement panels are required. Packaging is simple and clean, using the same 2 ounce bottle as its main competition (shots from Monster, NOS, and Rockstar). Overall, it's a good entry, but we'd stick with the Citrus variety over this one.
