citric lemongrass

Product Type:Water: Enhanced; Container: 17 oz PET
BevNET Review: Ganic’s Citric Lemongrass is an all-natural mixture of mineral water, lime, kumquat, and lemongrass extracts. There’s no added sweetener, resulting in a flavor that’s pretty heavy on the citrus flavor. We can’t distinguish between the lime, kumquat, and lemongrass, which is somewhat unfortunate, although it’s still pleasing to the palate. Like the other flavors, this one has a proprietary 17 oz. bottle, which has a natural vibe to it thanks to the use of clean imagery and a white backdrop. They’ve kept the text to a reasonable level, which should help the consumer quickly make sense of this product. However, we’re still not in love with the “Ganic” brand name, which again implies something that this product is not (organic). Otherwise, the packaging is clean and appealing, with a clutter free look that definitely stands out. Overall, Citric Lemongrass is certainly a product that deserves its place in this brand.

orange beach

Product Type:Water: Enhanced; Container: 17 oz PET
BevNET Review: While we’re not really sure what the name is supposed to mean, this is a nice tasting zero calorie citrus flavored water. It’s made with only a few ingredients, including Norwegian mineral water and natural lemon, orange, and kumquat extracts. The resulting mix has a mellow but slightly sour citrus flavor to it, with pleasant notes of orange and lemon. The kumquat seems to sit somewhere in the middle, rounding out what might otherwise be too sour of a flavor. Plus, the aroma of the product is really nice, with a very natural orange scent hitting your nose as soon as you open the cap. Packaging is one of the more appealing of the Ganic line, thanks to the use of a bright image of an orange. Otherwise, it’s the same 17 oz. proprietary PET bottle that you’ll find on the other varieties. Really, our only criticism of this product is that it’s too similar to the “Pomelo Wake Up” flavor that’s also part of this brand. Given that unsweetened flavored water is still a somewhat small niche, we’d be inclined to cut one of these flavors from the line.

velvet green tea

Product Type:Water: Enhanced; Container: 17 oz PET
BevNET Review: Ganic’s Velvet Green Tea flavor is one of the more creative and enjoyable varieties of their lineup. Made with green tea and vanilla extract, the product has a mild earthy flavor. It’s easy to distinguish the vanilla and tea flavors, which is always a plus as far as flavored water goes. What’s even better is the drink’s zero calorie formulation, which doesn’t get in the way of this product having plenty of flavor. From a packaging standpoint, it’s nice looking, with a modern minimalist look that’s been well executed. The product utilizes a 17 oz. PET bottle, which has been given raised “ganic” lettering and a midsection that’s covered with a white paper label. However, of the Ganic varieties, this one is a bit harder to understand what’s inside the bottle. That’s the result of using ambiguous green leaves and the use of “Velvet”, which is a conceptual word that doesn’t really help whet the appetite. These choices ultimately impact the marketability of the product, which we think is somewhat strained in comparison to some of the other, more clearly described flavors. That’s unfortunate, especially since this is one of their best tasting flavors of the lineup. Cleaning up the label – and pairing down some of the flavors – might help this product stand out more.

caramel toffee

Product Type:Water: Enhanced; Container: 17 oz PET
BevNET Review: As far as unsweetened flavored waters go, Ganic’s Caramel Toffee water is definitely one of the better tasting products that we’ve sampled. The light, unsweetened flavor of toffee works surprisingly well in an unsweetened format, delivering just the right accent to what’s otherwise just straight up water. It’s simple, yet complex, and both the flavor and aroma of the product are on point. Packaging is a custom 17 oz. PET bottle, which has raised “ganic” lettering running around the neck of the bottle. Below is a clean and wholesome looking paper label, which features minimal graphic elements and text. We like how they’ve portioned up the label, with the eye immediately going to the images of the caramels and the flavor name. However, the name “ganic” implies, at least to us, that the drink is organic, which it is not. So, if they’re going to stick with this name, we’d hope to see a USDA Organic certification sometime in the near future. Still, this is one of the best tasting unsweetened flavored waters that we’ve seen to date.

cinnamon soul

Product Type:Water: Enhanced; Container: 17 oz PET
BevNET Review: Ganic’s Cinnamon Soul is a close cousin of their Smooth Ginger flavor, thanks to both of them tasting like their unsweetened spice counterparts. In this case, we’d have to side with this variety over the ginger offering, only because the touch of cinnamon tastes more accurate. It’s a rather enjoyable flavor, especially if fruit flavors aren’t your bag, with the natural spice of cinnamon giving the product a soothing flavor that’s easy to drink. However, we wouldn’t be opposed to consolidating these two flavors, especially since the current Ganic lineup has a few too many flavors. Packaging is clean and appealing, with the image of a cinnamon stick making it easy to figure out what’s inside the bottle. On the other hand, the use of the word “soul” in the product’s name implies that there’s more to it than cinnamon, which isn’t the case. Overall, it’s a well executed flavor, albeit one that likely has niche appeal.
