This flavor of Garden of Flavor is a USDA Organic mix of apples, ginger, lemon and probiotics. The name Appleade is a pretty accurate descriptor, with the flavor essentially like mixing apple juice with lemonade and ginger. The three flavors are well-balanced, with sweetness from the apples, some light heat from the ginger, and some final citrus tang from the lemon. The probiotic content has no impact on the flavor. Appleade is a very nice starter juice and one that could easily be enjoyed by a mainstream consumer who is looking to make the jump to high pressure processed juice. Visually, the product follows the same format as the other Garden of Flavor products, but this flavor has a yellow accent color. This is, unfortunately, something that impedes the readability of the package, with white text on a yellow logo being a challenging color combination and one that lacks the pop of the other flavors. In addition, we think that the company should consider making the flavor name a bit more prominent (either in placement and/or the font size). Lastly, we wish that Garden of Flavor did a better job of integrating the added probiotics. As it stands right now, their inclusion in the label design feels like a bit of an afterthought. Still, this is a successful product that really only needs some minor tweaking.
