Manufacturer's Brand Overview: [Edit]
Why do athletes need Gatorade? The answer is simple: because athletes sweat. A lot. Some athletes can sweat up to a gallon every hour. And when you sweat, you lose electrolytes, sodium and potassium essential to maintaining peak performance. Which is exactly why you need Gatorade. Gatorade replaces those lost fluids and mineras faster and hydrates better than water, juice and soda.

Gatorade Lemonade

Product Type:Sports Drinks: Sports Drink; Container: 32 oz plastic
BevNET Review: Classic Lemon Lime Gatorade has always been one of our favorite flavors and Gatorade Lemonade is perhaps a bit too similar in taste and style. The product smells something like fresh lemonade and it’s got a hard-water feel on the tongue, as if it would require special detergent to get your dishes clean. The flavor isn’t terrible, but it isn’t memorable, either – it’s hard to figure out why anyone would pick this over Gatorade’s original Lemon-Lime flavor. But summer is coming, and maybe they’re hoping to ramp it up as a flavor someone will pick up after a sweaty game of hoops or something. Still, this product is nothing terribly inspiring or original.

Gatorade Raspberry Lemonade

Product Type:Sports Drinks: Sports Drink; Container: 32 oz plastic
BevNET Review: In keeping with the re-introduction of Gatorade Lemonade, this pale pink offering has a slight, artificial raspberry flavor and a bit of piquancy on the tongue, but its fairly pronounced aftertaste sure isn’t going to make you think of fresh raspberries when you drink it. On the other hand, it doesn’t have the “hard water” problem of the Lemonade and doesn’t dry your mouth out when you drink it. As with many Gatorade flavors, the issue isn’t whether it tastes like the flavor its advertised as, but whether it tastes like something you wouldn’t mind drinking to achieve the “replenishing” result. And this one does an okay job of it.
