Aside from the fruit punch flavor – which we prefer over the lemon – the products are identical in formulation, packaging, and brand. Like the lemon variety, we believe that the pouch is a bit clumsy and uncomfortable to hold, leaving this product feeling like a specialty product. With a different package, we think that this product could have penetration into the mainstream sports drink category. 		Lemon Category: Sports Drinks: Sports Drink; Packaging: 16 fl oz (473 ml) pouch BevNET Review: The purpose of Gleukos Performance Beverages is pretty clear: create a beverage that is fueled by glucose which, unlike fructose and sucrose, can be rapidly absorbed in to the bloodstream. The result is a product that can be taking before, during, and after physical activity. The Lemon variety of Gleukos will taste familiar to anyone who has had a lemon-lime sports drink, but with a much lighter, less intense flavor. While we can’t speak to its efficacy, we can certainly say that the flavor is light enough that it could be consumed during physical activity. The packaging, a screw-top, soft-sided pouch, is probably the most recognizable and memorable aspect of the product. Unfortunately, that’s a drawback: it’s not the most convenient product to hold.
