BevNET Review: Taking the same approach as the flagship G-Shot flavor and then cutting it with green tea (in place of “natural caffeine” -- although green tea is also a source of natural caffeine), this variety is a big step above what we tasted in the Goji Berries flavor. The light and grassy hit of green tea makes all the difference, helping to hide both the tartness and bitterness and making the product much smoother. Plus, green tea is a familiar and widely understood ingredient, which is not something that we can say for goji berries. Otherwise, the functional and nutritional benefits are identical to the original. Visually, the switch to a green accent color is a lateral move from the other flavor, although it’s nice that they are able to represent green tea with an approach that is simple and intuitive. Overall, we found this variety to be an improved and slightly more enjoyable approach to the original Goji Berries flavor.Reviewed on: 7/12/2012

BevNET Review: The flagship flavor of the G-Shot line is this one, known as “Goji Berries.” Key ingredients include goji berries (of course), stevia, monk fruit (also a sweetener), grape seed extract, taurine, glucuronolactone, and caffeine. The flavor of the drink is very strong, with a slightly tart fruit flavor that quickly turns into a bitter finish from the sweeteners. It’s definitely something that should be consumed quickly -- the flavor is not something worth savoring. Functionally, it seems to have what you’d expect to find in an energy shot: B vitamins, caffeine, and taurine. The biggest point of differentiation being in the drink’s 3800 ORAC value (antioxidants) and its health oriented branding. Visually, the 2.4 oz. fully wrapped glass bottle looks unique and fits with the drinks good-for-you theme. The G-Shot brand name feels fairly mainstream, which is helped by the clean and simple design of the brand. However, it’s lacking in the personality department as it stands right now. Overall, Goji Berries G-Shot is an interesting and unique approach to a category that is filled with brands who make little effort to differentiate from the market leader. Reviewed on: 7/12/2012
