BevNET Review: First, we commend Guayaki for really thinking outside the box in terms of flavor. The formulation, which actually has a lot more flavor than just chocolate and raspberry, is an impressive effort that delivers an earthy taste (what else would you expect from Guayaki?) with notes of cocoa, cherry, ginger, matte, and moderate amount of sweetness. They've also added acerola cherry, goji, ginger, and vitamins. We appreciate not only the quality of the flavor, but the innovation and complexity of it as well. Plus, it's organic certified, which will definitely help it stand out. In terms of functionality, this product relies on mate and vitamin B12 as its main ingredients. Packaging is a glass 2 ounce bottle with a full wrap, which is something that we haven't seen too much of in the shot category. Prime placement of "Organic Energy Shot" makes the product easy to understand. Overall, an exceptional, innovative entry into the shot category.

Literally got sick

The taste was horrible and altoids and gum could not get rid of it. After only a few sips and 20 minutes later I started feeling sick or drunk. I couldn't walk straight, nausea, dizzy, sweating and blurry vision. I felt a little better laying down but even after 8 hours I was still sick and still wouldn't be safe driving. I called my doctor and was told this is common and I had a reaction to one of the ingredients. I drink rockstar, red bull, monster and 5 hour energy drinks and have never had this experience. I would never recommend this product and hope kids would never have access to it. My husband smelled it and thought it smelt like Copenhagen in liquid form. Just disgusting! My coworker had the same experience but not as severe. Don't chance it!!

Absolutely LOVED the taste of this energy shot. I've enjoyed Guayaki products for years because they're organic & great tasting! This energy shot is no exception!! Have you tasted some of the other brand name energy shots out there? Yuch!! They're awful tasting plus they aren't that good for you!! This product has no artificial sweetners PLUS only containing organic products in the mix & you gotta love the little glass bottle....NO PLASTIC!! NO jitters & NO bad after taste. Pure & clean...perfect.

I like the Chocolate Raspberry, flavor its tasty. Much better than other energy shots I've tried. Gives me the energy I need for a hard work out at the gym as well as a good feeling of mental well being and sustained energy all day long. I especially like that this energy shot is made of organic and natural ingredients.

I just finished drinking one of these, so I'm not sure about the energy boost but I will comment on the taste. My first reaction was one of nearly losing my lunch (much to the entertainment of my coworkers). After a few more attempts at tiny sips, I came to the conclusion that the best way to describe the taste is one of rancid prune juice. Needing the energy boost I just sucked it up and chugged the remaining shot and quickly followed it up with a piece of gum to cover the vomit inducing aftertaste. Is this taste a quality of the yerba mate or is it just an awful combination of chocolate and raspberry?

I am an avid Guayaki drinker, and I LOVE the new energy shots! Not only do the taste better than any other similar product, but they give you a truly sustatained engery that lasts for hours. Perfect for a quick pick-me-up in the morning or before a trip to the gym. Worth every penny!

I had the opportunity to enjoy this flavor and the lemon on a day when I was not only taxed mentally, but physically as well - an 18 hour on the clock day at work. Unlike other energy drinks that cause many people to get the jitters or have other negative side effects, Guayaki Energy shots gave me all of the good without the bad. I had sustained energy and experienced a sense of well-being. My mental capacity and strength was clear without any muddled headaches. The ONLY energy shot I will take. Not only does it increase your energy it is natural and safe. What more could you ask for?
