BevNET Review: Berry Sport is H 10 O's sport formula for women. It was more drinkable than the men's flavor, even after the reformulation, but we’re not convinced that having a sex-designation is going to help sales (what if some men like berry over citrus?). From a functionality point of view, this product has a pretty loaded nutritional panel, although you'll have to turn the bottle and read the fine print to decipher what it means. We'd suggest making the explanation bigger to help make this a more inviting product. In addition, the front panel needs to be cleaned up. Right now, it finds itself fighting between being a sports drink, a zero calorie drink, a water, a dietary supplement, and a product for women -- that's just too much for the consumer to digest when packing a cooler.

BevNET Review: Like many of the other H 10 O flavors, this one has a light fruit flavor that is followed by strong notes of artificial sweetener and functional ingredients. This one is a "men's" formula, but with a few exceptions, it has a facts panel that's very similar to the women's "berry sport" formula. We point that out because having one flavor for men and one flavor for women seems like a risky move, especially since they've effectively doubled their cost to reach the market. In addition, they should do more to make the energy feel credible -- it currently seems lost amongst a sea of vitamins. Overall, the product has made a step forward on flavor, but still needs work with its pitch.

BevNET Review: There's a lot going on with this product on both the inside and outside. Fortunately, most of it is good, starting with the drink's pleasant zero calorie flavor. There's a fair amount of lemon and tea (black and rooibos) flavor to the product, but, compared with the other flavors, there's a bit of an aftertaste from the sweeteners (sucralose and ace-K). There's also a slight cooling sensation that hits your tongue at the tail end. Added vitamins are certainly a plus, with a total of ten essential vitamins that have been specifically formulated for men's health. Packaging certainly feels like a functional water, but it's somewhat busy in the graphic execution, with an excess of text covering the front of the bottle. Our main concern for the product is that it is easily identifiable as a flavored product. Relying completely on text -- and a lot of it -- seems like a risky move. Overall, enjoyable flavor and what appears to be a decent dose of vitamins, but we'd like to see a bit more on the design front.

BevNET Review: After a recent reformulation, this orange flavored energy drink is much improved, with the artificial sweeteners (ace-k and sucralose) and functional ingredients kept at bay to the point where the product is drinkable. Really though, this is a product that's going to appeal to someone who is drinking it for the vitamin content, not the flavor. However, we think that this brand runs the risk of consumers finding other means to get these vitamins -- at least with the taste as it currently stands. Packaging needs some help as well, with a colored plastic that has been covered with text. There are so many items competing for your eye, leaving nothing as the true dominant element. Overall, the flavor has been improved, but we’d still like to see more from the branding.

BevNET Review: After reformulation of the H10 O line, Peach Mango Tea, which was previously our favorite flavor, is our favorite no more. That’s not because this flavor has been made worse, but because the other flavors have improved quite a bit. In any event, this flavor still seems to have a sweeter, stronger flavor than the others. This not only helps to keep the sweetener taste at bay, but it also makes for a pretty pleasant note of tropical fruit flavor and tea. Unlike some of the other varieties which use their flavor names to code an additional function (e.g. "sport" or "energy"), this one sticks with taste alone. That's a good thing as far as we're concerned. Functionality looks credible, but some better explanatory text (it's in small print running vertically) would be very helpful. On the outside, there's a lot going on -- vitamin infused water, zero calories, dietary supplement, and "for women." Further simplification of the message would be a plus, even if the formula stays the same. On that same note, limiting the brand's best flavor as a "for women" variety seems like a risky move. Overall, this was the most enjoyable flavor of the lineup, but it still needs work in positioning and design.

BevNET Review: Tropical Energy is the "FOR WOMEN" energy formulation. It features a light amount of sweetness and fruit flavor, which, in its most recent reformulation, does a good job of hiding the artificial sweeteners. To that extent, the drink is noticeably more enjoyable than in the past. However, the look of the product hasn’t changed. As we pointed out in our initial review of the product, we find the label to be somewhat jumbled and hard to read. Plus, we’re not convinced of the product’s men and women formulations, especially since they use different flavors which certainly aren’t gender specific. Overall, what’s inside the bottle is improved, but the outside is still in need of refinement.
