BevNET Review: Energy Deuce is Hansen's new 16 oz offering of its original Energy formula. When we first tested Hansen's Energy back in 1998, we were quite impressed with its sweet flavor, but a lot has changed since then -- so how do we feel about Energy Deuce? Well, realistically this product's flavor now falls in the middle of the road. The branding is clean and catchy, but in our opinion Hansen's has eclipsed its own product with the improvements to Monster. Therefore, we think that this product is good and given the reputation of Hansen's, we think it will do well. However, there are still plenty of other 16 oz energy drinks that have a better taste and a better appearance.

Another one of my favorites that I stopped drinking due to my allergic reactions to high fructose corn syrup and then the product disappeared from the shelves. What a shame. Great drink if you're craving an indulgently rich, endorphins flowing sweetness. It should be brought back with the alternative sweetener combo of glucose and sucrose found in most of today's energy drinks. I tried this before I tried Monster, so I'll always prefer this one. I also wondered if the energy drink industry ever considered half-caf alternatives. Too much caffeine is totally unnecessary and usually eventually makes you feel like crap and crash. I think Hansen's energy drinks need to come out of hibernation already.

Taste - It tastes decent at first but quckly becomes really revolting to the point where you start to gag and can't even finish the can. It just tastes really bitter and too sweet at the same time. Burns your throat a little too. Still not as bad as KMX though. Energy - Pretty decent I suppose, about the same as Monster. All it has going for it really. Design - Just completley and utterly boring - doesn't stand out at all. I yawn when I look at it, seriously.
