From the moment that we first saw Heart of Tea, it was pretty apparent that the company needed to add a lemon flavor (it is, after all, the number one driver of volume in ready to drink tea). So, after being on the market for a little while, Heart of Tea has finally gotten around to creating one. Fortunately, what's in the bottle is excellent, with a very clean and balanced blend of water, black tea, sugar, natural flavors and citric acid. The one obvious thing that’s missing is lemon juice, which, for a premium product, is definitely a bit of a disappointment. Still, the product tastes good, with a very smooth base of black tea and just the right amount of sweetness. However, the lemon flavor lacks the depth and citrus punch that lemon juice would add. The packaging is definitely the best part of the product, with a super clean-looking 14 oz. bottle that is striking to the eye. It’s very easy to understand and is one of the nicest-looking labels that we’ve seen in the space. Overall, it’s a logical addition for the brand, but it would definitely be better with actual lemon juice instead of just flavoring.
