Over the past couple of years, the combination of pomegranate and acai flavors has been very popular - at least in the eyes of beverage marketers - for beverages released in the natural channel. So, for a brand that’s focused on being a USDA Organic energy drink, it makes total sense to add this flavor to the lineup. Made with 5 percent pomegranate juice, the product definitely has an accurate pomegranate flavor to its base. The acai, on the other hand, is derived from flavoring, but it still manages to deliver pretty accurate flavor. Combine that with carbonated water, sugar, and the added energy cocktail, and you have an enjoyable tasting product that is smack in between tasting like a sparkling juice and a traditional energy drink. That balance of having enjoyable flavor and energy bite (which should give the product some credibility as an energy drink) make this a nice addition to the Hi Ball lineup. And of course, you get added caffeine (160 mg), B vitamins, guarana, and ginseng -- all standard fare energy drink ingredients. Visually, we really like the dark blue paint job on the can. Like the other HiBall cans, it feels sophisticated and clean and the dark color definitely pops. Overall, a very nice line extension for HiBall.
