BevNET Review: Of the Hint Fizz lineup, this variety has the lightest flavor. This seems to be the result of watermelon having a much mellower presence than the fruit flavors used in the rest of the line -- it has a much stronger watermelon aroma than it does flavor. Still, it’s an enjoyable product, especially if you are someone who likes only a tiny bit of flavor in their sparkling water. Packaging is an attractive looking 12 oz. clear glass bottle that they’ve decorated with a relatively simple-looking label. We like the rounded design of the main label, but the label on the neck is somewhat distracting and looks forced. Plus, the label on the neck calls it a sparkling water, whereas the company’s press release refers to it as a soda (to us, this product is not a soda, but a sparkling water -- and a pretty good one at that). Overall, we like the light and refreshing flavor of this product and the simplistic look of the bottle, but some minor cleanup would make it even better.Reviewed on: 9/1/2011

BevNET Review: The Strawberry Kiwi flavor of Hint Fizz is an unsweetened “soda” that is really more comparable to a flavored sparkling water. There’s no sweetness of any kind, with a modest splash of strawberry kiwi flavoring being the only thing that you taste. It’s very carbonated, which, again, puts it on par with a sparkling water. The high level of carbonation adds some bite to the product, but it also helps cut the bitterness of the fruit flavoring. That said, it’s really a tossup for us as to whether or not they got the flavor and carbonation level right with Strawberry Kiwi. Packaging is where the product veers from the sparkling water category, with a clear long neck 12 oz. soda bottle being used. The clear bottle and minimalist lower label give the product a very healthy and fresh look, but the label on the neck looks like an afterthought and creates visual distraction. Overall, we’re not convinced that this is a soda replacement, but as a sparkling water, it’s definitely an enjoyable choice. Reviewed on: 9/1/2011

BevNET Review: As far as the Hint Fizz line goes, the Blackberry flavor is the hands down choice as the best flavor. Why? Ultimately, it comes down to the blackberry flavor being the most soda like (it’s very reminiscent of black cherry soda in both flavor and aroma). The flavor itself is crisp and clean, even with the high level of carbonation. Plus, the well-balanced blackberry essence works extremely well with the absence of sweetness. The design and packaging are visually appealing, with a clear glass bottle and clear liquid giving off the vibe of a healthy and natural product. The darkness of the purple label (compared with the lighter colors of some of the other flavors) makes it feel more soda like and it also helps the label on the body work better with the label on the neck (although we’d still like to see the neck label disappear). Nit picking aside, we really like this product and it’s definitely the best of the bunch.Reviewed on: 9/1/2011
