HYDRIVE is the first full power energy drink made from spring water. It has a light refreshing taste and just 30 calories per bottle. HYDRIVE has 38% more caffeine than the leading energy brand. It also contains a proprietary blend of 4 B Vitamins, 4 electrolytes and 3 amino acids. HYDRIVE is specially formulated to give a quick boost of energy without the sugar spikes and intense sweetness of most other energy drinks. HYDRIVE is packaged in a unique, resealable 15.5 ounce bottle and is a refreshing substitute for coffee or any energy beverage.

BevNET Review: While the label makes multiple references to the fact that this is an energy drink, the words “decaf” and “caffeine free” will likely send mixed messages to consumers who are used to getting a caffeine jolt from their energy drink. The energy blend uses L-carnitine, D-ribose, choline, L-arginine, and B vitamins, which will certainly perform differently than a caffeine laden drink. From a flavor point of view, the non-carbonated mixture is sweetened with sugar and sucralose, which makes for a relatively drinkable flavor. The fruit flavor tastes somewhat like peach, but has a heavy amount of bite. For us, this makes the drink something that we would not consume for flavor alone. Packaging is a 15.5 oz. plastic bottle that, despite standing out from other energy drinks, looks like something that’s in between a CSD and a value fruit juice drink. It definitely does not say “energy” to us. Ultimately, we’re not so sure that a decaf energy drink is something that’s going to be a big seller, especially the way this drink stands right now. Extra Strength

BevNET Review: As far as Hydrive’s lineup goes, Extra Strength Black Cherry is definitely one of the more enjoyable -- and better positioned -- products. Let's start with the pleasant black cherry flavor that is sweetened with sugar and sucralose. The combination of the tart fruit flavor and the sugar / sucralose blend makes for something that hides most of the sweetener aftertaste while still providing a moderate amount of sweetness. Functionally, extra caffeine is something that has proven to sell – and 195mg of caffeine per 15.5 oz. bottle is definitely up there with the category leaders. Plus, the black, red, yellow, and white label looks aggressive but is clean and readable. Overall, this is definitely one of our favorites of the lineup. Reviewed on: 7/5/2011

BevNET Review: Hydrive V Citrus Burst is another one of our favorites of the Hydrive lineup. First, the flavor, which is basically an orange flavored base that has been given a decent hit of acid to the finish. This, paired with the drink's moderate amount of sweetness, hide most of the functional ingredients that make up this product. And on the functional front, the product has a nice hit of caffeine, as well as added vitamin D and B vitamins. Being the "Vitamin Formula" of the mix, that makes sense, plus the follow through on this "function" is a bit easier and less conceptual than some of the others. BevNET Review: Mixing energy and "alertness" functions into one beverage, HyDrive A is attempting to create something unique to offer to the consumer. However, while that conceptually sounds good, it's not really explained, leaving consumers to wonder what it is about this drink that aids in alertness (caffeine?). On the other hand, the product's flavor is extremely pleasant, with an enjoyable kiwi strawberry flavor and a non-carbonated base. Adding 145mg of caffeine gives the product it's energy kick, while energy stalwarts taurine, ginseng, guarana (adding natural caffeine), amino acids, and B vitamins have also been added. A low calorie profile (30 per bottle) is certainly a plus, while a nicely executed blend of sweeteners (sucrose and sucralose) give the product a full strength level of sweetness with minimal aftertaste. Overall, this product is an enjoyable tasting one and delivers a nice kick of energy, but the secondary function needs a little bit more to make it seem like something that adds value to the drink. BevNET Review: The Lemon Lime flavor of HyDrive is definitely one of the most pleasant tasting flavors of the lineup. With added electrolytes on top of the base energy formula, this product is essentially like a souped-up version of a sports drink. And that's pretty much what the drink tastes like, with a pleasant lemon-lime flavor that's reminiscent of a sports drink, although this product's use of a sugar and artificial sweetener blend helps keep the calories much lower. In addition, it has 145 mg of caffeine per bottle which certainly will give you a kick while consuming this product. Packaging is clean and appealing, although the drink might benefit from a quick subtext that explains the purpose of mixing energy and electrolytes (hydration?). BevNET Review: Hyrdive S is the "strength" formula of the lineup, which means that they've added vitamin B12, maca root, ginkgo biloba, D-Ribose, and L-Leucine to the mix. They've also given it a blue raspberry flavor, complete with bright blue coloring. The latter part we're not so wild about, but the flavor is palatable, especially with the level of sweetness that the drink has. On the functionality front, the use of D-Ribose might, depending on how well other marketers push this ingredient, add something new and exciting, but we're not convinced that the addition of vitamin B12 and ginkgo will create a credible strength formula (these are common in energy drinks, although in lower quantity). That being said, perhaps they can make energy and strength more closely tied, perhaps replacing "strength formula" with "energy + strength." Reviewed on: 2/17/2009

BevNET Review: Hydrive's latest product is "Hydrive X", a non carbonated, berry flavored energy drink with antioxidants as its emphasis. The flavor is mildly sweet and, through a well executed mixture of crystalline fructose and sucralose, it has minimal sweetener aftertaste. There's a decent punch of energy and "energy flavor", but it's not outside of what we think the consumer will tolerate. Hydrive X's packaging is, like the other Hydrive products, a slim 15.5 fl oz plastic bottle that is cleanly designed and attractive to the eye. BevNET Review: Casaba Lime was the first flavor of Hydrive that we sampled. After trying the others, it's our second favorite. Casaba, which is a type of melon, and lime flavors combine to create a mainstream flavor that is best described as a sports drink style flavor, due to notes of sodium that can be tasted. They've done a really good job with the flavor, striking an equilibrium of energy and refreshment flavors. In addition, the low calorie formulation uses a blend of crystalline fructose and sucralose but manages not to impact the beverage's flavor. The packaging is clean and sharp, and the frosted label gives this clear product a colorful glow. Overall, a really well done product that looks clean and polished. The only question for the folks at Innov8 is how they will market this product as it looks much different from traditional energy drinks.Reviewed on: 4/10/2008

BevNET Review: This new flavor of the energized spring water brand Hydrive veers a bit too far towards the noncarbonated energy drink side of things, with the pomegranate flavor failing to provide a fruity enough burst to cover up the caffeine flavor needed to give the product its energetic life. That’s not to say Hydrive doesn’t remain a superior product – it’s got fine potential as an alternative to heavily-sugared energy drinks, but this one doesn’t have the mellow flavor of its predecessors. On the label, we wonder if it shouldn’t say “Spring Water Energy Drink” rather than “Energy Drink from Spring Water” – it’s a close call, but we think it would attract more women. BevNET Review: Acai has gotten a lot of play as of late, and Hydrive is the latest to make use of this tropical berry's flavor. In the case of Hydrive, it's a rather muted flavor, and we had trouble distinguishing it from the other flavors in the product. It's still an enjoyable flavored beverage, but if it's acai flavor you are looking for, this might not be the drink for you. Regardless, we enjoyed the berry flavor of this beverage and found that it did a good job of complementing the energy formulation that is used in this product. The flavor is light and mildly sweet, with a touch of sodium to the finish, giving the product a refreshing and hydrating taste. The energy formulation has kick, which is on par with other products in the category but in a much more palatable method of delivery. Despite its lack of real acai flavor, Innov8 has done a great job creating a product that has nailed the balance of taste and functionality.Reviewed on: 4/10/2008

BevNET Review: Our favorite flavor from the Hydrive line. Dragoinfruit might not be a flavor that will wet the appetite of potential consumers, but it's definitely a name that has a subtly connotes "energy". Fortunately, the flavor is also quite satisfying, with its mildly sweet berry flavor and lightly bitter finish. Like the other flavors, there's a hint of sodium, which helps increase the hydrating abilities of this product. Combine the hydrating abilities with Hydrive's energy formulation and great taste, and you've got an energy drink like no other. Like the other flavors of Hydrive, Dragonfruit's packaging has pop to it, which is helped by a glow (unintentional according to Innov8) that comes from the bottom of the bottle. In our opinion, the orange color of Dragonfruit is the most attractive of Hydrive line and, therefore, the flavor that will get the most attention from new buyers.Reviewed on: 4/10/2008
