Ultra Light American Vanilla
Category: Coffee: Espresso Based; Packaging: 9.5 fl oz (281ml) glass
BevNET Review:
American Vanilla’s flavor is actually not bad, with some of the sweetener aftertaste being offset by the use of a sweet vanilla flavor. That being said, although it also has a bit more coffee flavor to it compared to the other flavored varieties of the brand, it’s still not terribly strong. Again, the biggest flaw of this product is the packaging, which features an American flag along with the word “FRENCH” that has been crossed out and replaced with the word “American”. We’re not sure if this is some sort of nod to the post 9/11 anti-French sentiment or what, but it certainly cheapens the feeling of the product and the entire brand. Overall, a decent flavor that has been undermined by a strange, out-of-date political statement.

Ultra Light Caramel Dulce De Leche
Category: Coffee: Espresso Based; Packaging: 9.5 fl oz (281ml) glass
BevNET Review:
The caramel flavored version of Iced ‘Spresso is sweet and creamy, with a mild amount of coffee flavor. Unfortunately, most of the flavor is washed out by the aftertaste of the sweeteners. Even more surprising is that this product, which uses a blend of artificial sweeteners, still has 90 calories per bottle. While we understand the reason that this product has the calories that it does, we don’t think consumers will and, with the harsh aftertaste that this flavor has, we think they will expect a lower calorie count. As for the packaging, it’s a bit cluttered, with too many icons and too much text on the front of the label, resulting in this product’s primary message being lost. Overall, we think this product is trying to do many things, but doesn’t really excel or stand out at any one thing in particular.

Ultra Light Mocha Mudslide
Category: Coffee: Espresso Based; Packaging: 9.5 fl oz (281ml) glass
BevNET Review:
While Mocha Mudslide doesn’t have a lot of coffee taste, it does have a rather pleasant chocolate flavor, making it our favorite variety of the Iced ‘Spresso brand. The chocolate flavor somehow manages to hide almost all of the sweetener aftertaste. Additionally, this product has the most appealing-looking label of the bunch. We still believe that the packaging could use some cleanup, including easier-to-read type treatments and better placement of the Splenda logo. Still, it’s not half bad, and it’s certainly worth a try if you are in the market for a reduced-calorie iced coffee.

Ultra Lite Espresso Latte
Category: Coffee: Espresso Based; Packaging: 9.5 fl oz (281ml) glass
BevNET Review:
Calling this product a “latte” is a bit deceiving, as there is very minimal dairy flavor in this product. It’s drinkable, but harsh in its finish, with a noticeable blast of artificial sweeteners hitting your tongue. There’s also a lingering aftertaste, which we could certainly do without. The product, which claims to be “packed with flavor, not sugar”, seems to have an interesting niche that it’s going after, but the execution needs improvement. Our suggestion would be to flavor this with something different – perhaps ditch the Splenda – and try to achieve a better coffee flavor.
