Iced Spresso

BevNET Review

Iced 'Spresso's retooled lineup is much improved and their new flagship flavor, XtraShot Espresso is where we decided to start. Blending a full bodied base of coffee with milk and a sweetener blend of ace-k and sucralose, this product has a natural level of sweetness with minimal aftertaste. In fact, the natural aftertaste of the coffee overpowers that of the sweetener to the point where it's hard to find. Otherwise, the product is enjoyable and smooth, with a good balance of coffee and milk. Having 90 calories and 2.5 grams of fat per bottle is a nice point of differentiation. In addition, we like that they've put the caffeine content (110mg) on the bottle. Packaging is much improved, with a simplified look that has a better chance at whetting the appetite compared to the previous fully wrapped design. However, there's still a bit too much going on with the label, with competing messages "BOLD" and "Ultra Light" muddling the product's true point of differentiation -- 90 calories per bottle. Putting this on the front of the label and eliminating some of the extraneous text is our suggestion. Overall, a huge step in the right direction.
