BevNET Review: A newcomer to the energy drink category, Inject Energy is a full calorie (to the tune of 260 calories per can) product that claims to deliver "full flavor." The high fructose corn syrup sweetened formulation tastes very much like the caffeinated citrus sodas (e.g. Mountain Dew). That's really where things start to unravel for us. The product lacks a real point of differentiation from what's already on the market. Soda like flavor? Check. Corny tagline that ties back to the name (Take your shot!)? Check. Aggressive sounding name? Check. We're sorry to say that we've heard all this stuff before -- and we're certain that the type of consumer interested in a drink like this has as well. And ultimately, the lack of meaningful differentiation that the consumer wants and can understand is what sinks dozens of energy brands every year. Unfortunately, there really isn't much more to say for this product. We sincerely hope that the marketers behind this product consider all of this before they get in too deep with this product.
