While calling this product Citrus Splash instead of “Orange” doesn’t make a lot of sense to us, this was our favorite flavor of the ISO-5 line. Really, it’s just a case of orange flavoring working better in a lightly sweetened format than some of the other varieties, plus we think that this is one of the most marketable of the bunch. Otherwise, this product is very similar to the others, using Dr. Tim’s proprietary Cryoflux method of protecting the bioavailability of nutrients in the drink. While it’s definitely a hydrating product with loads of electrolytes, we have no way of verifying that their proprietary process adds any benefit, which is the same predicament that a consumer will have. To that extent, it’s something that will take time and money for this brand to prove makes it superior to the competition. Plus, we’d love to see some coconut water flavor in the drink as it otherwise tastes like a regular sports drink. In the meantime, we’d like to reiterate that we think that this product’s biggest room for improvement is in its branding, which is certainly positioning the product for a technical user as opposed to the mainstream. Not that the supplement market isn’t a good one, but we think that this product will have a tough time stacking up against some of the more supplement laden products that are in that category. Plus, they’ve gone through the effort of getting USDA Organic certification, which tells us that they desire to wish the mainstream. Overall, this product seems like it’s on the cusp of having some decent potential, but again, some flaws in the flavor and design need to be worked out.
