Blueberry Green Tea

Product Type:Tea: Sweetened; Container: 16.9 fl oz (500 ml) PET
BevNET Review: We applaud Ito En for taking a stab at a flavored, sweetened tea, as it represents a move towards the American mainstream for a company best known for strong black and green teas. But this one sort of overdoes it, by going too sweet at the cost of its lemon and black tea flavors. The product itself is terrifically high-quality – we smelled lemon and tea, and if you work hard, you can make them out in the taste, once you cut through the layer of sweetness that washes them out. It’s still got an incredibly beautiful shrink wrap label – big lemons on a black background that seem like wallpaper. Good stuff.Reviewed on: 7/21/2006

Raspberry

Product Type:Tea: Sweetened; Container: 16.9 fl oz (500 ml) PET
BevNET Review: Too much raspberry pulls this promising beverage from the edge of greatness back to the pack. It tastes like the Japanese tea giant Ito En got a bit too heavy-handed with the sugar to make their original product palatable to American audiences. Not that it’s all that bad – there’s still a nice undercurrent of tea flavor, but the problem is that raspberry can be tough to balance with other tastes. Still, worth a try for flavored tea fans.Reviewed on: 4/25/2006

Peach

Product Type:Tea: Sweetened; Container: 16.9 fl oz (500 ml) PET
BevNET Review: This is tasty stuff. It’s a not-too-sweet, but very peachy, mix of high-quality leaf tea with real sugar. While the peach flavor tends to wash out the lead edge of the tea flavor, they are definitely a harmonious mix, one without a drop of harshness. Packaged in that great 16.9-oz Ito En PET bottle with the shrink-wrap label, this could do well all over.Reviewed on: 4/25/2006

Mango

Product Type:Tea: Sweetened; Container: 16.9 fl oz (500 ml) PET
BevNET Review: This tea walks a fine line between mango and sweet tea, and just barely manages to keep its balance via a black tea finish that leaves you thirsting for more. Just a little less mango juice, a little less sugar, and it would be something really special, but as it is, it’s very tasty. The label, with giant mangoes on a black background, is a real keeper.Reviewed on: 4/25/2006

Apple

Product Type:Tea: Sweetened; Container: 16.9 fl oz (500 ml) PET
BevNET Review: Who knew that apple and black tea would combine so well? Ito En obviously did and this unique, refreshing beverage is the result. Featuring a strong brew of Sri Lankan black tea and a lightly sweet apple flavor, it's an extremely addictive flavor. The bottle is colorful and appealing, but if you don't know the Ito En brand (as many American consumers don't), the product might be mistaken for juice cocktail as it's completely wrapped in apples. Regardless, this is, without a doubt, the best effort from Ito En to make its way to the US.Reviewed on: 9/26/2005
