BevNET Review: Made with 25 percent juice and featuring bright red liquid, one might expect a full bodied product to be inside this bottle. However, that’s not the case with Izze Esque Watermelon. It has a watered-down taste with almost no distinguishable fruit flavor. The juice content, which is derived from apple, black currant, and watermelon (there’s also natural flavoring), tastes like candy -- but without the sugar. Paired with the product’s high level of carbonation, this product is less than pleasing to consume. On the outside, the product comes in a standard 12 oz. soda bottle. The front panel is cluttered with text, all the way down to the four-word name of the product (“Low Calorie Sparkling Watermelon”). The logo, which is a shade of red, blends in with the color of the liquid, which also hurts the visual appearance. Overall, Watermelon could be a nice addition to the Izze Esque lineup, but unfortunately, they failed to execute something that’s enjoyable to consume. Reviewed on: 4/27/2011

Mandarin

BevNET Review: Featuring a light citrus flavor, Mandarin is a decent addition to the Izze Esque lineup. The product drinks well for a low calorie CSD, but on the other hand, it doesn't really have a "Mandarin" flavor to it. This isn't a huge surprise given the 5 percent juice content, which doesn't include any citrus juices. In our opinion, the other two varieties are better than this one. Reviewed on: 6/21/2007

Limon

BevNET Review: Like the other flavors of Izze Esque, the Limon variety is a very crisp product that delivers refreshing taste and only 60 calories per bottle. Using lo han guo juice and crystalline fructose to sweeten the product, Limon has a light level of sweetness but it lacks the harsh aftertaste typically associated with low calorie CSDs. Packaging is good, but the addition of text somewhat taints the previously clean design of Izze's bottle. In addition, the word "Esque" is something that might confuse rather than entice. Still, as far as reduced calorie CSDs go, this is definitely one of the better varieties to hit the market recently.Reviewed on: 6/21/2007

Black Raspberry

BevNET Review: The Black Raspberry flavor of Izze Esque is a crisp low-calorie CSD that's sweetened with a blend of crystalline fructose and lo han guo juice (an FDA "GRAS -- Generally Accepted as Safe" ingredient). For the most part, this flavor drinks like a watered down CSD which, in our opinion, is better than something loaded with artificial sweeteners. Black Raspberry has maintained a decent level of sweetness paired with natural fruit flavor, resulting in a flavor that we find quite enjoyable. The packaging is very similar to the standard Izze packaging, with the exception being the "esque" running vertically down the bottle. Overall, an innovative and enjoyable product from Izze.Reviewed on: 6/21/2007
