Jamba All Natural Energy Drink

Manufacturer's Brand Overview [Edit]

Jamba® All Natural Energy Drinks: all of the lift and boost of traditional energy drinks, but none of the weird hard-to-pronounce ingredients. With 70% real fruit juice and 90 calories per serving, it's the all-natural and super tasty way to get the energy you need.

Crisp Apple

Product Type:Functional: Energy Drink: Regular; Container: 8.4 oz Can
BevNET Review: Technically speaking, this is the best flavor of the bunch, with the “filler juice” also the flavor of the product. They’ve also added apple flavoring to the mix, which results in a pleasant tasting green apple flavor. Still, this is basically carbonated apple juice (and only 70 percent, at that) with caffeine, green tea extract, and stevia. It’s a flavor that’s hard to imagine having appeal with adults. On the other hand, it’s too carbonated and caffeinated for kids. So, we’re not really sure who the ideal consumer might be. The packaging, which is an 8 oz. can with brightly colored graphics, is easy to miss, with your eye easily missing the Jamba and Nestle logos. Overall, the Jamba “All Natural Energy” drinks are definitely not the worst tasting energy drinks that we’ve ever sampled, but we’re still at a loss as to where this product fits in the crowded energy drink category. Blueberry Pomegranate

Product Type:Functional: Energy Drink: Regular; Container: 8.4 oz Can
BevNET Review: Made with 70 percent juice, Jamba’s Blueberry Pomegranate energy drink tastes more like a sparkling juice than an energy drink. And compared with other sparkling juice products out there, it’s just okay, with a heavy apple note and a stevia (which is the only added sweetener) note at the finish. The blueberry and pomegranate play second fiddle to the apple, which results in a rather jumbled fruit flavor. Added caffeine and green tea extract provide 80mg of caffeine per can, putting it on par with a standard 8 oz. energy drink. Packaging is a brightly colored 8.4 oz. can which features both Jamba and Nestle branding (which adds little benefit, in our opinion). Really, this is a hard drink to get excited about, especially when it’s being sold at Jamba retail outlets, where it’s at odds with the other products being sold. Plus, it’s also at odds with the energy drink market, which has failed to care about entries that try and position themselves as healthy. Overall, an average product at best. Reviewed on: 4/22/2011
