Just fresh and right. King 888 takes care of business. Doesn't brag. Doesn't have to. A high energy drink that knows how to roll and win. Available in 16 oz. Original and Sugar Free. BevNET Review: Original Gold could be the winner of the King "888" lineup, both in terms of flavor and packaging. First the flavor. It tastes like a berry flavor that's got a bit of citrus to it and, like the name suggests, the fluid is gold colored. However, losing the syrupy finish would probably be a good thing. Packaging is far and away the most attractive of the three flavors, with an attractive treatment that gives the King "888" logo some pop. Plus, the gold color seems to go with the theme of the drink a bit more than the black or white themed designs do. Overall, a pleasant taste that's backed with above average looking packaging.Reviewed on: 4/14/2008

BevNET Review: King "888" Energy Drink is a lemon lime flavored drink with a heavy vitamin flavor. The drink, which purports to have some benefit from its Las Vegas roots, delivers a sweet and enjoyable body, but there's a bit too much syrup to the finish. Energy boost appears to be about average, as do the functional ingredients that power the drink. Packaging looks like it should belong to a beer brand rather than an energy drink, but we think that they've managed to execute the idea cleanly and professionally. Our only complaint are the outlined letters, which are a bit hard on the eyes due to the contrasting colors used in the design. Overall, enjoyable taste and packaging that's good enough, but doesn't immediately scream energy drink.Reviewed on: 4/14/2008

BevNET Review: Sugar Free King "888" Energy Drink is a translation of the Original's lemon lime flavor. Sweetened with sucralose and acesulfame potassium, the drink manages to have a nice level of sweetness with minimal sweetener aftertaste. There's a decent dose of energy and vitamin flavor to the product though, which makes it score lower than the other two of King "888"'s flavors. Packaging is decent, relying on the widely used white backdrop to denote that this is a sugar free lineup. Still, we would have liked to see a design that was based upon the more mature and attractive Gold Original format. Overall, a slightly above average drink.Reviewed on: 4/14/2008
