BevNET Review: Despite the manufacturer's claim that this flavor is different than Cherry Charge, we cannot tell the difference. The flavors are identical in color and, as far as we can tell, formulation. The main difference is, well, the name Asian Experience and the blue colored can. So let's focus on that. First off, why is it named "Asian Experience"? We'd suggest following the Seagal movie-naming formula of 'verb preposition noun' (perhaps "Out for Energy") or 'verb article noun' (maybe "Feel the Power"). Regardless, you still have a great tasting energy drink. However, if the formulas truly are as similar as we think they are, we'd either trim this down to one SKU or come up with something different. In the case of the former, we'd stick with the Cherry Charge name over this one.

BevNET Review: How do you come up with an energy drink that lives up to the reputation of Steven Seagal? How can you possibly embody a 6'4" pony-tailed Master of Japanese Kendo of star of over two dozen action films?? The answer is Lightning Bolt, an herbal energy drink that's flavored with a refreshing berry flavor and has no sugar added. The can, which looks a tad dated in its styling -- kind of like Steven Seagal's early 90's appearance, features Japanese characters and bright lighting bursts in the background. It's not offensive -- nor is it terribly memorable as it could easily blend in with the crowd. The flavor -- not Steven Seagal -- is without question the biggest asset of this product. It's an original product that actually gives the drinker a reason to come back for more. Our suggestion: modernize the packaging and put Steven Seagal higher up on the can (perhaps in some sort of inspiring Buddhist pose) and make the Asian-herbal theme more noticeable. That, when combined with the delicious flavor, will potentially make consumers come back for more.
