Diet Green Tea Watermelon

Product Type:Tea: Kombucha; Container: 20 oz PET
BevNET Review: Lipton has two diet flavors as part of this bottled tea line – and Diet Green Tea with Watermelon is the better of the two. Unfortunately, it’s still far from being a great product, especially with the bitter sweetener aftertaste (from sucralose and ace-k) that hits your mouth at the finish. The green tea flavor is easy to miss, with the sweetener continuing to take over your taste buds as you drink more. The watermelon provides a pleasant aroma, but the flavoring tastes more like candy than it does fruit. Packaging looks like the rest of the Lipton line, but we’re very surprised that they’ve made their sucralose and ace-k (artificial sweeteners) look so similar to their 100% Natural varieties. Overall, just an average product. Reviewed on: 5/19/2011

Green Tea Citrus

Product Type:Tea: Sweetened; Container: 20 oz PET
BevNET Review: As far as green teas go, this one is definitely mainstream-oriented, with a mild tea base, a hefty dose of sweetness (from sugar and stevia), and a splash of lemon lime flavor at the finish. The tea has a brief grassy note to it, but it quickly gives way to the added citrus flavoring. Typically, green tea beverages are marketed as the healthy alternative, but this variety actually has 50 calories and 13g of sugar more than the lemon iced tea flavor. Packaging looks like the other flavors with a slender looking 20 oz. PET bottle that has a ribbed center section. The full wrap label features prime placement of the Lipton logo and “100% natural.” While the Lipton brand is definitely hard to miss, the rest of the package feels somewhat generic. Overall, it’s a decent product, but lowering the calories and carbs would put this product in line with other green tea beverages.Reviewed on: 5/19/2011

Iced Tea Lemon

Product Type:Tea: Sweetened; Container: 20 oz PET
BevNET Review: Using a blend of sugar and stevia, Lipton’s “100% Natural” Lemon Flavored Iced Tea is an enjoyable mainstream tea, but don’t expect something that’s extremely low in calories (there are 130 per bottle). They’ve done a nice job of hiding the stevia (since there’s a lot of sugar), but the tea and lemon flavors are definitely far from the best thing you’ll find in a bottle of iced tea. It’s basically just your standard black tea, lemon, and sweetener formulation. On the outside, Lipton utilizes a 20 oz. ribbed bottle that’s thinner around the middle than the top and bottom. This creates a visually “slim” appearance, while also makes the product feel comfortable in your hand. The label is very cluttered looking, with too much emphasis being placed on “100% natural” (it subconsciously makes you wonder if the rest of Lipton’s products artificially flavored). Overall, it’s a decent product whose biggest asset is the strength of the Lipton name.Reviewed on: 5/19/2011
