BevNET Review: Liquid Energizer’s “Green” flavor drinks like “classic” energy drink flavor with a hint of green apple to the finish. It’s highly carbonated and rather sweet (from HFCS and sucralose), plus there’s a slightly syrupy finish to it. Still, it’s not a bad tasting product. Functionally, this product positions itself with standard benefits (“Refreshes mind and body”) and the functional ingredients appear to be in line with other drinks in the category. Packaging and brand are the bigger concern for this product. The design itself isn’t bad as far as the eye is concerned, but it’s hard to grasp what the drink is called, even with the “Liquid Energizer” around the neck ring (we thought that was marketing text at first – and the “LE” logo just looks like a big “E”). In addition, calling it “Green” is inconsistent with some of the other flavors (e.g. “Mango” and “Pomegranate”). Our suggestions are to make the flavor scheme consistent and to eliminate the text rings at the top to make room for a more prominent Liquid Energizer logo. In addition, something that makes this product memorable or stand out would be helpful. Right now, it feels like a product that fits squarely in the middle of the pack.Reviewed on: 5/6/2009

Mango

BevNET Review: The Mango flavor of Liquid Energizer is our favorite flavor of the lineup, with a tart and tangy fruit flavor that’s enjoyable to drink. On the other hand, it’s not the most accurate mango flavor that we’ve ever tasted. But whatever you call it, it’s still quite drinkable. In addition, this product tastes slightly less syrupy than some of the other flavors despite having the same amount of sugar. Our biggest concern for this flavor is its similarity to the “Orange” variety, which has a slightly sweeter and less sour flavor. Still, the two are very close. On the packaging front, we have many of the same concerns that we cited in the other reviews (hard to read logo, URL on the front of the can), plus we’re not sure what the purpose is of the “EXOTIC” text that’s running around the bottom of the can. However, we do like that they’ve called out the fruit flavor with giant “Mango” text that catches the eye. Hopefully, they’ll take that suggestion and consider doing it on the other flavors. Overall, this one has good flavor and, with some packaging cleanup, it probably has the best shot of the entire lineup.Reviewed on: 5/6/2009

Orange

BevNET Review: As mentioned in the Mango review, our biggest issue with this product is how similar its flavor is to the Mango variety. Compared with Mango, the Orange variety of Liquid Energizer is slightly less tart and a bit more sweet. It’s good, but not the best orange flavored energy drink we’ve ever sampled, especially with the drink’s slightly syrupy finish. While it’s drinkable, it’s still too close to the Mango variety. Packaging is, like the other flavors, in need of some improvement. This starts with the large “LE” that’s on the front of the can, which is designed in such a way that the eye misses the “L.” Furthermore, the word “SPLASH” runs around the bottom of the can. We’re not really sure what this is for, but it certainly doesn’t add value to the product. Overall, this product definitely needs some work. Reviewed on: 5/6/2009

BevNET Review: As with many energy drink lines, Liquid Energizer’s flagship flavor is their interpretation of the “classic” energy drink flavor. In this case, they’ve used a pretty sweet, highly carbonated mixture that you can find in more or less the same form in tons of other drinks. Same goes for the packaging, which, in a 16 oz. can, could easily blend in with other products out there. That being said, we’re not really sure what this product’s reason for being is. We’d suggest coming up with a more memorable flavor and/or appearance. Reviewed on: 5/6/2009

Pomegranate

BevNET Review: This variety is one of the more pleasant tasting varieties of the line, blending a sweet but tangy fruit flavor (it’s a mellow “pomegranate”) with a moderate dose of carbonation and a light energy bite to the finish. Technically speaking, our only complaint is the syrupy finish, which stays behind a bit too long. On the outside, we like the big “Pomegranate” call out, but we’re not big fans of the logo (it looks like a big “E”) and some of the text should be cut, especially the word “Tropic” (not sure what that means) and the URL, which isn’t something that needs to be written more than once on a can. Overall, this one is good, but still needs some improvement if it wishes to succeed as even a value player. Reviewed on: 5/6/2009
