BevNET Review: Ludicrous' flagship energy flavor is an interesting spin on the classic energy drink flavor. They've kept the underlying bubblegum flavor that made this category famous, but they've rounded it out with a more defined (and palatable) berry flavor, which is sweetened with sucrose for a clean finish. Packaging is original and clean, but the choice of colors and type treatment is a bit tough on the eyes, especially compared to the orange and blue color schemes of the other two varieties. BevNET Review: With a sweet, fruity flavor that's very soda-like, Ludicrous Mango Madness is actually a very refreshing product to consume. Despite being very sweet tasting, they've actually kept the body of this stuff pretty light, which is due in part to the use of sucrose instead of high fructose corn syrup. It finishes with only a mild aftertaste and almost no energy flavor. The energy blend is fairly standard, relying on caffeine, guarana, and taurine as the marketable ingredients. Packaging is aggressive and edgy, with flames being used throughout the label. We're not sure that the formulation lives up to its tag line of "energy madness", but the brand certainly feels like "madness." In any event, the product drinks well and the branding is clean, which means that this product certainly has a chance. Definitely the best flavor of the brandReviewed on: 4/5/2007

BevNET Review: Ultra Lo-Carb, which basically means that it has 3g of carbohydrates per serving (about 6 per can), is a light version of Ludicrous' Hardcore Energy. While it does use a small amount of sucrose, the product does not use any artificial sweeteners to supplement the sweetness. That's certainly a plus from a marketing point of view, but it leaves the product with a lot of energy aftertaste. So much, in fact, that the product actually tastes like it does contain artificial sweeteners. We'd suggest that they tweak the flavor or perhaps supplement it with some sort of fruit flavor. Finally, we like the blue/black packaging design -- it's our favorite combo of the brand. Reviewed on: 4/5/2007
