Review: Chill (2013)

LuliTonix’s “Chill!” is a “blended greens” drink that’s made with water and raw (non pasteurized, non-HPP) organic ingredients, including raw kale, cilantro, pineapple, mango, lettuce, mint, lemon, and figs. It’s closer to a smoothie than a juice, with a viscous body and some pulp bits floating in the drink. The flavor, however, is quite mild, having neither an overly vegetable flavor or too much in the way of sweetness. We could easily taste the cilantro and lettuce, while the other flavors played nicely together in the background before a mild lemon finish. It was certainly a nice change of pace from the standard raw kale juice that seems to be a ubiquitous part of any juice line. Visually, we like the design of the logo and the styling of the brand, but using the same squarish 16 oz. bottle as so many other brands seems like it increases the risk of this product being perceived as interchangeable with the competition. Furthermore, we think that the name could be more clear -- “Chill!” doesn’t seem like the name of the product. Overall, we like this product a lot, but more distinctive packaging would definitely help.
