Lumi Juice’s Farmhouse Greens is a cold-pressed, high pressure processed (HPP) blend of cucumber, Fuji apple, kale, celery, lemon and Italian parsley. As far as green juices go, this one definitely has more of a vegetable flavor than a sweet flavor. Specifically, the kale and lemon provide the majority of the initial flavor. From there, there’s a hint of the Italian parsley and a very mellow apple backdrop to round things out. All in all, this flavor can definitely hold its own terms of taste with other green juices that are currently out there. However, the fact that the product is not certified organic (it does, however, contain only organic ingredients) could certainly be an issue against competing products. Nutritionally, the product has 100 calories and 20 g of sugar per 16 oz. bottle. The look of the product is really where we think Lumi Juice stands out. Unlike the competition, which so often uses clear plastic labels on a clear plastic bottle, Lumi has opted for a white label around the center of the bottle. The orange and green color palette definitely seems appropriate and well-executed, and we also like the playfulness of the bread. It has a personal and approachable feeling to it, which is a nice contrast to the more serious “cleanse” branding that we see on so many other juice products. Overall, we would definitely love to see Lumi become USDA Organic certified, but this is still an excellent entry into the cold-pressed juice category.
