Sweet Tea

Product Type:Tea: Sweetened; Container:
BevNET Review: If Southern "sweet tea" has ever been part of your diet, you're probably familiar with the Luzianne brand of tea. So, of course, the first flavor of this line that we reached for was the plain Sweet Tea variety. In terms of the tea flavor and sweetness level, this stuff is dead on accurate. However, they've added some citric acid to the mix, which makes the flavor's finish a bit unexpected. Specifically, it doesn't have that sugary finish that we're used to, instead being cut with a bitter bite of acid. Packaging is a 16 fl oz plastic bottle, which has a sleeve wrap around its midsection. The design definitely fits with the Southern theme, although it seems like it's geared towards grocery more than other retail channels. Overall, a decent first effort that could be improved with a few minor tweaks.Reviewed on: 5/9/2008

Lemon

Product Type:Tea: Sweetened; Container:
BevNET Review: As far as mainstream lemon flavored teas go, this is definitely about as good as you are going to get. They've used a full bodied base of black tea, sweetened it with sugar not HFCS, and added just the right amount of lemon flavor -- that's really everything we want in our lemon flavored tea. Our only issue is that it no longer feels like "authentic Southern iced tea" since lemon isn't traditionally part of the equation. Like the other flavors, the packaging is a 16 fl oz plastic bottle with a sleeve wrap. It's attractive enough, but doesn't stand out, especially among the plethora of premium tea products that are on the market today. Reviewed on: 5/9/2008

Green Tea with Mint

Product Type:Tea: Sweetened; Container:
BevNET Review: Again, while this doesn't really feel like an authentic Southern style iced tea, it is an enjoyable one. The light flavor of green tea pairs well with the mint and they've kept it clean with the use of cane sugar as the sweetener. There's no grassiness to it, which should help the drink have mainstream appeal. Packaging is attractive, but could be simplified, especially in terms of the various logos and text that compete for your eye on the front panel. Overall, very nice taste but only average on the packaging side.Reviewed on: 5/9/2008
