Using a blend of grape, black currant, and red beet juice as its base, M13's Calm/Detox formulation delivers a potent tart fruit flavor we had to consume slowly. Plus, they've enhanced it with a variety of functional ingredients, including iron, calcium, schisandra, chrysanthemum, ginseng, ginkgo biloba, and bilberry, which is the likely culprit behind the mild burn on the drink's finish. Still, this is a pretty enjoyable drink, especially with the product's very distinct looking bottle. The innovative design, which uses a 7.6 oz aluminum bottle with a matte grey finish and a minimalist front panel, feels like something you'd expect to see for an upscale skincare line rather than a functional beverage. Overall, good taste and an innovative approach to functionality in an eye grabbing package.

This flavor of M13 is definitely the best tasting of the bunch, which is the result of a prominent blueberry note to body of the product. The function of the drink isn't overly obvious from the name, but it's energy -- in the form of 88mg of naturally occurring caffeine from the yerba mate. While the caffeine is on par with some of today's energy drinks, it's the attractive and innovative packaging as well as the enjoyable flavor that would keep us coming back for more.

Our second favorite flavor of the M13 line, Wellbeing delivers tart fruit flavor in the form of black currant and raspberry, while functionally it's designed to deliver balance and clarity. Helping this cause are large doses of vitamin B6 and B12 as well as a cocktail of herbal additives. While we can't attest to the drink's functionality, it is nice to see that these additives do not hurt the flavor. Plus, the packaging is extremely attractive, making great use of a cleanly designed 7.6 oz aluminum bottle. Overall, an extremely innovative and enjoyable approach to functional beverages.
